The tip of the religious iceberg

Novelist Anne Rice's surprise post last week on Facebook — she announced she had quit Christianity "in the name of Christ" because she'd seen too much hypocrisy — brought cheers and smug smiles from critics of institutional faith, and criticism and soul-searching among believers. But there's something more at play here than one of America's most famous Catholics — Rice re-embraced the faith of her youth in 1998 and published a memoir just two years ago, "Called Out of Darkness: A Spiritual Confession" — walking away from the church. Rice is merely one of millions of Americans who have opted out of organized religion in recent years, making the unaffiliated category of faith the fastest-growing "religion" in America, according to a 2008 study by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life.

"Christianity" does not believe the the complete Bible, it teaches that the Old "Testament" has no relevance today. Without the Old "Testament" the New "Testament" has no foundation which to stand and build upon.

Christmas, Easter and Sunday "Sabbath" are of pagan origins and have no Biblical mandate or authority. Christianity has become a religion.

Christianity is what it has always been, based on the Holy Bible( Old and New Testament),salvation by grace through faith in JESUS CHRIST alone."not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit" Titus 3:5. Many have tried to deny the truth or to "water it down" but if you deny Biblical truth you are not really a Christian. I don`t know Ms. Rice`s heart but I would not want to be handcuffed to her when she dies.

I have attended a lot of Christian churches since my father was a minister for years and years. Both the Old and new Testaments are taught even through Revelations. Most ministers skip around in the Bible according to what they are thinking about. But, eventually they go through all the books of the Bible including Old and New Testaments. Apparently Rice wasn't getting anything out of going to church. Or maybe she should have tried another church. All ministers have their own way and some appeal to some more than others. However they should all be taking their preaching from the Bible.

To me you can NOT be Christian without being ANTI homosexual and ANTI woman. Real feminism CAN be found in the Bible despite what people think. They just want the freedom to bash men especially white ones and dress like Babylonian whores and Christianity doesnt offer that.
