This post is going to irritate some people.  It’s going to mark me out as a troglodytic, knuckle dragging five point Calvinist who is wholeheartedly in favor of the Reformation and thinks that those issues have still not gone away. When John Knox was contending for the Reformation in Scotland he said that he feared one Roman Catholic Mass more than he feared the standing armies of France.  The primary issue between Protestants and Catholics has always been the doctrine of justification by faith alone.  But among the Reformed there has been a whole series which has followed close behind.  Those issues all center around the Second Commandment.  I believe the Reformed have thought and written more about the Second Commandment than any other group in Christendom.  You may love it.  You may hate it.  But you can’t ignore it.
