Time Magazine Celebrates Methodist Seminary’s Move to Train Imams and Rabbis Too
For centuries, theological seminaries minted trained and licensed ministers of their respective religious traditions. They took seriously their creedal and confessional commitments to their respective faiths and denominations. While comparative theology may have been taught, it was with a view to understand and critically evaluate them as rival truth claims, not equally valid truthful claims. But those dark, backwards days may be behind us if Claremont School of Theology successfully paves the way.

Slime magazine lost about half its credibility in 1983 when it "invented" the category "machine of the year" and did a feature on computers–and the other half in 1995 with an article about the Bible!
-DevasahayamSynchretism and the bottom line always work hand-in-hand with the devil. That it what Protestant Christianity has become, paganism blended with gnosticism.
-KalevKalev: Excuse me, but you cannot lump all Protestants together any more than you can lump all Catholics together. There are many in both groups who haven't a CLUE what it means to BE a Christian. I'd have to know more about the Methodist Seminary''s plan before I could be TOO critical….but I believe they are treading in very dangerous waters. I suppose it is possible they are allowing rabbis and imams to come to certain classes with the hope of introducing them to Christ, THE MESSIAH, but somehow, I doubt it.
The American Church, as a whole, has been on a slippery slope for many years, going back into the early 20th century and probably before that as well. Speaking of American "Christians" as a whole, they have allowed the culture to become their God. (Of course, I know there are still many faithful sprinkled throughout the country, but I"m talking about the majority within the big name churches here) The sad statistics related to abortion alone are proof enough of that. Divorces that are winked at, sexual abuse that is covered up, homosexuality that is tolerated within the church….WOW! When we worship "church" we are idolators. We need to keep our focus on Christ.; not on any church and NOT on the culture!!
-JoanneIf you knew what you were talking about you would know "we Christians "are the Church, read the Bible and you will know that there will be a falling away in the last days, those that commit those sins cannot consider themselves "followers of Jesus" thats why we study the Bible, to make ourselves worthy, there are many good people in churches don't lump them together.Just make yourself ready for Jesus return as it isn't to far in the future, like within the next few months. It is the next thing to happen on Gods calendar, and don't say "we don't know the hour or day, Jesus says "I command you to know!" It is obvious if you follow the news that the Anti-Christ is making the scene right now…
-RaymaJesus said we don't know the day or the hour, that only the Father knows, we may know the time is near but that is it. and the church is the true believers in Christ. which seem there are less and less true believers, like Joanne said abortion, divorce, homsexuality, false doctrine, and sexual abuse. truth has fallen in the streets, and you can die at any hour so don't worry about Jesus coming worry about today if you are where you need to be with God because you can take your last breath any second.
too many christian schools are selling out because of fear of goverment funding, even christian groups who help those in need let goverment tell them what to do. If Jesus is calling you to this work don't worry He will help you thru it. but selling out is sad way to leave this life. pray for eyes and ears to be opened and hearts made softened to the Lord.
-PurdinAre they going to properly train the Imams to do decapitations correctly? Are they going to allow honor killings on their campus? What if the Imams decide the Methodist are infidels; because, they claim to be Christians?
