How fascinating that the U.S. Religious Left, usually so indifferent to religious liberty when relating to churches, at home, or abroad, has zealously embraced the Ground Zero mosque controversy as a Manichaean struggle between freedom and bigotry. Churches, especially larger ones, routinely battle zoning bureaucracies or community resistance in the U.S. Poor St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church lost its sanctuary on 9-11 and has struggled for 9 nine years against government inertia to rebuild. If evangelicals had sought to tear down a 150-year-old building near Ground Zero to construct a high rise mega-church and "cultural center" for evangelistic outreach in lower Manhattan, funded by murky sources, the reaction among New York elites can be easily imagined. The groundbreaking, if ever, might occur around 2025, almost certainly at a different location.

2. Lets build a Nazi Museum across from a concentration camp.

I would suggest to President Obama that ground zero be mandated as a National Memorial, as it truly is. Our Nation, our People were brutally attacked that day in September, 2001. It was a plan prepared by evil minds, minds that imagined they would become martyrs in the heaven of Allah. The World Trade Center towers were a world icon as well as a national icon of Americam financial success. Those people at work that morning in September, 2001, were from many nations, were from all races on our planet and certainly were members of probably all religions on our planet. How was it that those people from diverse cultures and religions worked together to make an important function of the world's economy work so well? And, all the while a few drugged and brainwashed terrorists had no notion of the wonderful part of human nature was at work that day – that place.

Let us require the U.S. Government to purchase the entire site and engage America's creative energy and vision to design a memorial fitting in honor for those non-combatants who lost their lives at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. As nothing has yet been fully planned or built upon that site, I must wonder if indeed God has held it in His trust for the day a National Memorial would br built thereon.

I listen to Israel as they are close up and personal with these terrorists since the Hamas bomb Israel everyday caring not if is military or civilian targets that they bomb. Israel has told us time and again that muslim terrorists build places for vulnerable people and then hide underneath the building a bomb building center. Interestingly today that I read where Roger Ebert said that this planned community center would also be built downward to the extent it would be equal to the WTC depth and the subway stations depths which literally would give this mosque/community center access to the subways and the new WTC center underneath. As IRAN is getting the nuclear bomb from Russia(also in news reports) well can't you put two and two together,people? They will have some type of bomb planted in the nether regions of this new community center and eventually reveal it so they can enforce their law(shariah law) on NYC. Whatever happens in NYC flows down to the rest of the country. I have posted this on other sites for people to think about. So when they get it built of course this will delight the followers of islam and even more encourage their congregants to see that supporting the Iman who does what the ayatollah tells him today and that is use the mosques funds to support elite muslim terrorist groups which hide behind islam as their right to kill western society.

When there is a vacuum in place by natural law something must fill it. Since American society has removed GOD from our everyday life, like schools and court rooms etc this void has to be filled. I ask you which do you want to fill this lack of God in our society. Judeo -Christian which gives life and hope and freedom or do you want Shariah law imposed to the oppression you see daily coming out of Iraq and afghanistan. Which do you choose. It's rather late to put God back into our society but we might be able to once Americans get the real low down on islamic shariah law and come to the truth that these muslims die for their religion-Israel calls these people that blow others up homocide bombers. Not suicide bombers because they blow a lot of people up. Israel should know the victory symbol of islam because they live with it everyday by the mere presence of the Dome on the temple mount in Jerusalem. What NYC feels from their mayor is nothing but sheer guilt. Already the moslems are advertising to moslems to come and help them put up the flag of islam at the WTC.This ad is put out by the masjid Manhattan mosque also close to ground zero. Masjid Manhattan mosque said they were not connected to the Park place 51 mosque. Coincidence? I think not.

As a Southerner I foresee that NYC will see the building of this mosque/community center whether they like it or not.The imam has said publicly that they will NOT relent on the place to build the mosque. So what choice will the governing bodies of NYC have. Nothing. When this happens I firmly believe that NYC will be forced to accept shariah law whether they like it or not and I have already explained how this will occur.As much as the governing elected officials would like to believe that this is good will and healing etc. This man is also telling a lie to progress the islamic religion.There is no way the two can exist-when one believes in death and martyrdom and the other believes in life and equality.

As a Christian I see three religions trying to solve a situation as best they can.Islam is the eldest brother, Judaism is the middle son and Christianity is the third born. In the long run Judiasm will die for their faith. Christians will fly out of here for their faith and Islam says you will die for my faith. As a southerner I do know that we are still occupied today to the point that we must ask the FEderal gov't i f we can change a voting law or a voting district. This occupation has existed since the end of the civil war. So N.Y has never known what it is like to live under occupation of another one's beliefs. I think they are going to find out very soon if as reported this mosque.community center can be built in a year's time. But like Israel says watch out for the tunnels they will build to the subways and the new WTC building underneath this mosque/community center. this is how they secretly move (unseen by the public and the UN forces) their ammunitions, weapons etc. And NYC will not notice them moving unseen through underground tunnels. NYC is too busy of a city. So whether I like to hear about this or not I agree with gingrich, israel, ADL, and our own military who has told us over and over again about their methods to control, enforce and kill for shariah law. They teach their children from birth onwards at muslim schools and mosques if you are working or in the west do four things: 1. cause confusion 2.cause chaos. 3. bring down 4. utterly destroy. We' ve seen the first three happen in this argument over the building of this mosque/community center. I sure hope I get to fly away!

  I agree wholeheartedly with you. My final say…let them build it somewhere else. I don't want to go to ground zero to pay my respects, then see them right around the corner. So it was a few bad guys that did it, but they still did it in the name of their religion. This is our country, not theirs. Go to their country and you'd have to go thru red tape to build a church….then they refuse you. America has to stop being so damn nice…that's why we keep getting stabbed in the back all the time.

Quite ironically, the Muslim religion has found a home in the American left (does anyone remember how distasteful religion is the left?). The left feels very comfortable cuddleing this relatively new to our country religion. Somehow, the separation of church and state isnt so finely defined when it comes to the question of support of anything Muslim in our country. Its sad that some on the progressive left have found it necessary to use this example as a way of thumbing their noses at the Judaic Christian communities here. But, dont fret, this could very well backfire on the Left if and when the Muslims ever take control. They, yes They will be the first to be persecuted because of their morale decay. The Muslim leadership are not dumb.

Islam is 95% symbolism and is demonstrated by the fact that in every Islamic victory, a Mosque is constructed on, or near that "victory" site. The Twin Towers destruction was, and is, a landmark victory in Islamic culture, and must be shown to the world that Islam has succesfully attacked and brought down a centerpiece of a free world complex that was on American soil, which is known as the Great Satan in the Muslim world. Muslims around the globe, even in this country, rejoiced and celebrated at the fall of the towers. Of course, the media did not expose this to the public for reasons of "national security", but it happened, just the same. Now, it is the time to memorialize this feat by erecting a Mosque to be dedicated to the 19 highjackers and "martyrs" of this accomplishment, and this monumental Islamic victory. The plan has been set and they must go on with their push to have the Mosque at this site.

Theren will be no compromise or discussion of any other location, unless closer to ground zero, as this is a holy site to Islam. Any negotiation is not going to happen as that is a sign of weakness, and saving face is next to paramount in the Muslim faith. They will not relent to another site, nor change their position on its construction. It is set in stone. This monument to Islamic savagery must never be allowed to be built, as it is a blight in the face of the United States, a lasting memorial to a forign attack on American soil, and lastly, a humiliation to this country for the world to see.

If this is Mosque is allowed to be built, lets allow the Japanese to build a Shinto Temple at the USS Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor to honor the 29 Jap pilots who were killed in the attack on Dec. 7th, 1941.

This is not a matter of religios freedom, this is allowing a sacrilege on hallowed ground. It must never happen.

I am an American Jew and I would donate to build a Christian Church at the 9/11 sight. This is hollowed ground. But I would not donate to build a Mosque on that sight. It has nothing to do with Religious Freedom or respecting various religions. It is the fact that this Mosque would be an insult to the American people. It would be a Victory Mosque to those muslims that flew the planes into the Twin Towers. It is a repeat of the history of Islam. Build your Mosque elsewhere.

It is comforting to read and KNOW that other Christians believe as I do. We are definitely in the LAST DAYS. Many Christians think we as outdamnspotout wrote…….. that we will "fly" or be raptured out of here. Let's get REAL. NOT ONE disciple was SPARED in the REAL WORLD, during Christ's time. We, as Christians have been so TIED DOWN to our possessions, we have NOT done OUR PART of the RELATIONSHIP and commandment called the GREAT COMMISSION. Our churches are beginning to see the "vision" that we were called to do and some are even going on a ONCE A YEAR Mission Trip. What about the other 345 days????????? We even PRIDE OURSELVES IN THAT ACCOMPLISHMENT……the truth is IT IS NOT ENOUGH ….A RELATIONSHIP is a TWO WAY STREET…….WE HAVE NOT DONE OUR PART AS THE CHURCH BODY……….one or two weeks at the most DOES NOT GET IT. I know because I had a chance to go to China and teach. I had two houses, a dog and cat to take CARE OF………So this is not meant for "condemnation"…..It is meant to speak the TRUTH. It seems that either no one understands that Muslims build mosques where they have invaded and taken over a land, or won a battle, etc. Even the name "Cordoba" is an insult because it stands for the invasion and conquering of Spain, from where they attempted to conquer all of Europe. And they may well have conquered Europe if it hadn't been for Charles "The Hammer" Martel at the Battle of Tours October 10, 0732. In case you haven't noticed, that date is hundreds of years before the first Crusades 1096-1099. The siege of Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine (Christian empire) took place from 717-718. The Crusades were at least partially caused by Muslim atrocities in the Holy Land. But all we hear about is the Muslims using the Crusades to blame the West for everything–something America had nothing to do with. The fact is, the Muslims were the first to attack and spread their religion by the sword. That is historical fact, not opinion.

My view on this is that I agree with no mosque at ground zero and if there are threats in their koran against us -I would even support writing into the constitution to disallow such religions and satanic worshipping- this country is no longer the frontier of hopes and dreams- we have too much violence and congress is to blame as much as our sorryest president ever Borak Obama-this guy has deliberately sabotaged us instead of carefully conserving money and cutting wasteful spending-putting several thousands of unemployed to work deporting illegals and securing our borders-what has he done that I like-he has picked up a basketball and made a few good shots-that is all-everything else is pretty much sour-he has proven what was said about no experience-it lead us here to this point in time we can not back up and restore it.This birth certificate thing if true will be bigger than Watergate-and be a Democratic Scandal-they should have stuck with Hillary instead of mistreating her like that.

We are so fortunate to witness the sudden concern for the Bill of Rights by our very own Progressive comrades as it pertains to the Ground Zero Mosque. Why all of a sudden this current outpouring for religious freedom? Well simply put, all one has to do is understand that any criticism of the Ground Zero Mosque or the shady history of it’s outspoken imam smacks of “Islamophobia” and no progressive in their left mind would allow that be said about them!

Why even the AP style book instructs the members of our national information bureaus (once known as the main stream media) to refrain from using “Ground Zero Mosque”, as this is in keeping with the political correctness dictums of our time. We wouldn’t want to offend anyone of Islamic faith, so I wish to refer to the “Ground Zero Mosque” as the 19 Martyrs Memorial Mosque!

In addition, the U.S. taxpayers are funding Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s whirlwind tour through the Mid East to promote tolerance and raise money for the 19 Martyrs Memorial Mosque, with the full blessings of our very own State Department. By funding Imam Rauf’s trip, on the surface many would see this as violating the ever present Constitutional “separation of church and state.” The American Civil Liberties Union nor the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State have yet to utter any disagreement with the use of taxpayer’s money to apparently promote a mosque.

Mosques are clearly not churches. They are also used as “community centers” and if anyone should know this difference, it should be our greatest community organizer to ever rise to the pinnacle of power within this very country. Mosques allow the Muslim community to gather in order to promote religious tolerance, indoctrination, as well the planning and conducting political fund raising events for “useful idiots.” Also mosques around the world act as military planning centers for the most blessed jihadis as well stores for weapons and ammunition. Our western treaties recognize places of worship as off-limits to military attack, so that our Muslim brethren plotting our death can continue unmolested.

Imam Rauf’s criticism of the United States as the source of all evil in the Muslim world is reminiscent of our President’s spiritual leader for twenty years, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. This clearly is a First Amendment Free Speech Right offered under the Constitution and only “tea-baggers” are prohibited from using it as they attempt to spew their intolerance, bigotry and hate speech!

It seems our very religious freedom is going to be our undoing! The founders were divinely inspired, I think most here will agree, what 52 out of 55 were Christian. We have taken religious freedom for everyone to mean any spiritual beliefs for all American's. Maybe that is exactly what the founders meant? Knowing their beliefs, I can not believe that they would have meant anything goes here. That would have to mean churches for Satan (witches were sought out and removed if I remember our history right). I guess I can understand the allowance of religions outside of Christianity if they endorsed live and let live but as a Christian, I know that anything outside of Gods word the Old and more importantly concerning us the New Testament is evil , regardless of how passive they may be. If its not Gods will, its a distortion of his will and is pseudo spirituality. My thought is Islam is not a live and let live religion, it regards anyone who is not a Muslim a infidel and that they should be converted or killed. Why have we as Americans allowed mosques to be built in this country at all, after all the end out come will be as they grow in numbers here, they will be imposing that upon us and our children at our expense! I will answer my own question with, this is Satan's world and the attack of evil in its endless amount of forms ( the wrong music, excepting homosexuality as normal, the lack of values and corruption of our politcan's is a direct example of the rest of the country, etc. ) has a grip on to many people in our beloved home land and the once favored nation of the Trinity has or is quickly slipping away, out of his will and blessings! Glenn Beck is right to say we need God in our lives and we need to stand up to the things that disagree with his will or suffer the consequences!

Christians, Budhists, and Jews are routinely killed inside the Islamic Empire for the soul reason that they are not Muslim.

I'll tell you what. Whne Saudi Arabia allows non Muslims the same freedom of worship in the unholy city of Mecca, then I will bve willing to allow Muslims a right to worship inside Christiandom. But untill then, it's time for another Crusade.

In the meantime, the Muslims have a quaint ritual of tossing pebbles at a large boulder i Mecca as a symbolic rejection of evil. So we should all throw stones err pebles at the nearest Mosque or Imam as a rejection of the racism of Islam.
