New Lutheran Denomination (NALC) forms to Separate from Apostate ELCA
Conservative Lutherans are forming a new church body they say will “uphold confessional principles” after disagreements with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America over the ordination of gay clergy.
The new North American Lutheran Church is scheduled to be formed at a meeting Friday and Saturday (Aug. 26-27) in Grove City, Ohio.
“The NALC will uphold confessional principles dear to Lutherans, including a commitment to the authority of the Bible and the Lutheran Confessions,” organizers said in a statement.

I was raised in the Evangelical Lutheran Church but changed to the Missouri Synod later in life. How will this new branch differ from the Missouri Synod, I wonder?
-BereniceI know the pastor of a congregation in my area which has voted to leave the ELCA. I don't know whether this is the same group that they are affiliating with. However, he told me that he and his friends wanted a group which practiced traditional morality but also allowed the ordination of women. That was why he didn't want to go into the Missouri or Wisconsin synods.
-ChrisAgain people are leaving what they have been involved with and starting another version of their religion. This has happened before which is how the Mormans got split but they had already split from another religion years back. The second split was the ones that wanted multiple wives. Amazing how some split away from the Bible while other's moved toward it. It appears that nearly all the recongnized religions have done this.
-JudyIt doesn't seem to me that those who are splitting for the ELCA are moving away from the Bible. It appears to me that they are moving back to the Bible. I'm happy that the LCMS appears to be holding strong in its Bible beliefs and creeds.
-LauraBig deal, although commendable in standing up to the homosexual agenda (secretly in the Catholic Church and now openly in many "chrisitan
denominations) {i.e. episcopal, etc.] but all this is still for naught when claiming to return to the Bible as long as these CULTIST churches preach and promote INFANT baptism.
-Fomer Catholic, b4 tI don't want to use the word "CULTIST" but, any church, group, or people that teach baptismal regeneration is simply not telling the truth. Think logically, if baptising babies was what God wanted, it would be crystal clear in the bible. Lutherans etc. often say that it is a New Testament picture of Old Testament circumcision. God made that very clear with exact comands of when to do it, and why. Always in the New Testament salvation goes in this order: Someone preaches, someone hears, someone believes, and THEN someone is baptized.
-StanReligion has had a frustrating impact on family life this day and age … I see the Catholic church as experiencing the most distrurbing levels of deceit and corruption of all. The church's leadership is clearly flawed and as disrespected as anyone could imagine – unless your catholic. The Missouri Synod is severely closed minded whether it's for better or worse, and have little understanding of life outside the box. Then we do a 180 and you have the ELCA … they've crossed the lines, become morally inept, and are merely a liberalist organization to me. The list goes on … mormons, methodist, baptist, etc…
The NALC is what the ELCA was intended to be, but along the way, ELCA leadership failed and many critical decisions were made for the wrong reasons. As a result, morals and principles become secondary to the modern liberal movement.
How do we know? I'm not posting this to act as if I know the answers, but more so, to place my concern on the religeous leaders of our country regrdless the denomination.
