Is it okay for Christians to Burn the Koran?
To mark the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, The Rev. Terry Jones is planning an “International Burn the Qur’an Day” at his 50-member Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida. Yesterday Gen. David H. Petraeus warned that if a Florida church goes through with its plan to burn copies of the Qur’an this weekend, it could “endanger troops” and set back the U. S. war effort in Afghanistan. Beyond Afghanistan, it could spark protests and violence around the world (David Nakamura, Washington Post on-line, Sept 7, 2010). On Monday, 500 protesters at a Kabul mosque burned an effigy of Mr. Jones.

The keys are 1. faith in God and not fear 2. love not hate 3. active courage not laziness 4. Forgiveness for yourself and all others 5. understanding God's grace and giving it out freely 6. resisting evil and not people (resist the Devil and he will flee) 7. don't focus on criticizing what is wrong but revealing why it is wrong 8. loving people while hating the sin they do
If we pursue these goals and abide in God (study the Bible, fellowship with God, fellowship with believers) then all things are possible. If we join together in faith in what we have in Common – Jesus, God – and quit being devisive over petty things we can have the union that says – "one can put a thousand to flight and two ten thousand" – if Christians just join in unity – figure out the mathematics of hundreds, thousands, and millions of believers focusing on the same point of faith????? (Satan has worked hard on disunity because to divide is to conquer.

-HowieWhile burning any book may be in bad taste….It is still protected by the first amendment as a RIGHT. This right needs to be protected vigilantly. Our rights are on a constant assault by our own government, and even worse, by foreign governments through the guise of the U.N.
If you don't know about this CONSTANT assault, I would suggest you look into alternative media outlets, such as Alex Jones' show, the Corbett Report, etc.

Bibles are burned all day long by radical Muslim governments and you do not see Christians going nuts over it. For example try to take a Bible to Saudi Arabia and see what happens, how quickly it will get destroyed, and land you in jail. Or try to start a Christian church in SA and see how quickly you loose your head.

Look at the poverty conditions that this system has produced. Today we only see the riches of a few that were enriched with our dollars.
