With the advent of the Tea Party movement and the decline of the Republican party due to its compromise and liberal leanings, is there a need for a third party in America?

There is a WEALTH of information on this post! Thanks for reminding those of us out here that the eschatology of "earthquakes and famines" were relevant to the "generation" between 30AD and 70AD, and "may" not be allocated to the world as we know it today. Though Revelation covers a LOT of "end-of-the-world" information, it is only John's "vision" of Christ's return. Will the world end in 2012 as the Mayan calendar predicts? I think the moderators have that covered!! As far as O'Donnell winning the primary over the supposed-Republican candidate, I'm SURE the mainstream Republicans thought THIS was the end-of-the-world as they know it!! Bring on the Tea Party candidates, and allow them to be assimilated into the present Republican Party.

What are you talking about? God hears my prayers, and it has nothing to do with fasting. He hears me because I am in His Son, Jesus Christ. When a person repents of their sins, turns away from them, and turns to Christ in faith, they can be saved from their sins. The Bible says in Romans 10:9, "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in you heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." After that, God DOES hear your prayers, because you are in His Son, and God listens to His Son. You too can know this glorious salvation, Tod, just repent and BELIEVE!

We are to humble ourselves, ask Jesus into our lives, and He forgives us, we can do nothing so as to not boast about ourselves, but Glorify God in what Jesus His son did to redeem us that accept His sacrifice and death on the cross.
Be careful who you call "so-called-Christians" it might come back to bite you and it may be how you will be held accountable when you meet your maker.

You better do some research with your religions. " Day of Atonement" Sundown Friday to Saturday Sundown is practiced by the Jewish Faith. We are all religious in our own faiths. Each religion has it's own rules. We pray our own prayers. God, who is infinite hears them all. Does HE answer them all??? Of course HE does, but it's not always the answer we want to hear. -Robert HooseFirst of all, people are mistaken when they talk of the end of the world. The word "olam" in the Old Testament can also be translated as a long period of time and could be better translated as "age". The Greek word in the New Testament that is translated "world" is "eon" which we all know means a long span of time and would be better translated as "age". So what we are looking forward to is not the end of the planet, but the end of the present "age".
When Jesus returns in the flesh, there will be a new age when Jesus rules the earth for 1000 years and Satan and the fallen angels will be locked in Hell and won't be a negative influence on us. The Bible talks about Jesus return being preceded by "earth quakes, wars, and rumors of wars" but there was never a time without these things. A more reliable sign of Jesus return was the Jews return to the land of Israel in 1948. The Old Testament says that after God brings His people Israel back to the land of Israel, all of the countries surrounding Israel will be hostile to it. Then, "all the countries in the world will be hostile to Israel".
Does any of that sound like today? It does to me. After all the world is hostile to Israel there are a few more things prophesied, like the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem and the appearance of the Antichrist; then there will be the battle of Armageddon, and during that battle, Jesus will return and Rule the world from The Mount of Olives in Jerusalem.
I don't know how long it will take before those events can be accomplished but from the world events happening today, it seems like it will be sooner rather than later. Certainly it seems like it will be less than 100 years before Jesus returns; maybe only 10 or 20 years, and maybe next year! Jesus said that we are to read "the signs of the times" and to prepare so that

-shosh7154If you read in Matthew 24, the disciples asked Jesus what would the signs be for the end of the age and His coming. Jesus responded by saying beware of people who deceive you. He also said that nation will rise up against nation and that there will be famines and earthquakes in various places, Jesus said that these are the beginnings of birth pains. This can be explained as women going into labor that the pains increase over time. Initially it starts as little pains but continue to increase. I believe that even though we have had earthquakes and other tragedies this is just the beginning and it will continue to increase. It also states that God's people will be persecuted. As we have noticed with Obama in office our Christian rights have steadily been taken away from us in all ways. The Ten Commandments have been removed from government offices, prayer removed from schools and other activities and more and more emphasis being put on the tolerance of the muslims in all ways, most recently the ground zero situation. Many people that I know explain the Bible as an interpretation which can lead to many misunderstandings. We must continue to obey God's word and help others to understand the correct meaning of what is written, and not get hung up on when and what date our Lord will return

Today you have over 750 earthquakes per month going off all over the world. Since the 19th century eartquakes have dramatically increased.

We may just be looking for one major earthquake which shakes the entire world. I have been reading about pole shifts recently which can shake the whole world also. The bible talks about some who survive the famines, earthquakes, floods that are coming up some time in the future. Try to be one of those that survive..

The Old Testament is a record of what has happened since the beginning of this Planet (Earth). The New Testament records of what has happened during the time beginning of the A D time. But then the Old Testament also has things of prophecy towards the future. The birth of Christ was prophesied in Isaiah but it was also in Matthew and Luke. The Old and New Testaments carry this prophesied this. The Law of God was never done away with. What was done away with was the Ceremonial Law the people put in place. We are still under Gods Law, the Law of the 10 Commandments will stand forever. Gods Law does not change.As God never changes. He is the same as yesterday, today, and tomorrow. If you break one of Gods 10 Commandments, you have broken them all.
As far as Israel (the country) and people are concerned, they are not mentioned in the Bible at all. Israel in the Bible is the SPIRITUAL Israel. They are the people belonging to God. Who ever accepts the teaching of what is in the Bible and listening and doing what God wants them to do is classified as "ISRAEL".
When Jesus comes the second time, He will not set foot on this world and have His kingdom here as many of you think. This world will be destroyed by fire as it is today. We will not get better. We will become worse before Jesus comes. The Holy Spirit is withdrawing His presents because of the sin of the people in the world. The book of Revelation goes with the book of Daniel. In Daniel it was prophesied but in Revelation shows it is the fulfillment of what was in Daniel. Think about it people. Reread your BIBLE from Genesis through Revelation and you will find out more treasures in store for you. The Holy Spirit will help you through prayer.

Lu 21:25: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea
and the waves roaring;
Lu 21:26: Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Lu 21:27: And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Lu 21:28: And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
If these passages and many others were fulfilled 2,000 years ago, then Luke 21:27 and 21:28 would have taken place then.

If you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and if you believe His promises, you will not fear the Last Days, nor the coming of The Lord. Heaven is a far better place than the Earth. If it were not so, Jesus would have not gone away to prepare a place for us and promise to return for us so that where He is we may be.
It is not escapism to desire the return of Christ to set up His kingdom. It is the hope of all believers.

Then there is the massive Bible illiteracy as evidenced in a lot of these comments. Just read your Bible once a year all the way through; and study it just 5 minutes a day. Pick a topic, get some study helps (A good free one is e-sword.com.) Try memorizing a few key verses – both new testament and old. God didn't throw out the old testament when the new testament was written. We are still part of His covenant.
