In the wake of the country’s recent deportation of a number of Christians, Open Doors USA is keeping a close watch on Morocco. More than 100 foreign Christians, including Americans, were ejected from the country earlier this year based on allegations of proselytizing in the predominantly Muslim country. But Open Doors spokeswoman Lindsay Vessey tells OneNewsNow the world has forgotten “the national converts — the people in Morocco who have converted to Christianity. There’s only about a thousand of these converts in the country, and they’re not even recognized by the government,” she reports. “And these people have been reporting that there’s increased surveillance [and] detention. Even a few of them have been beaten.”
