There is much more to this than just tragedy. That alone makes for a story but dig deeper. There must be some vestige of guilt remaining in some to have caused this. Quite a surprise when coming out of the closet is almost a badge of honor in our times. The numbers of celebrities that are gay is overwhelming. Rutgers has organizations for these poor souls and maybe they should have been involved. Most likely, the boy at Rutgers was concealing his orientation from others. I would think it was the embarrassment of discovery and not simply being gay that turned this into such a hopeless situation. Perhaps in the other cases, bullying was taking place… This boy was assuredly somewhat unstable to start with and as such should have been a bit more revealing to at least a select few who might have been comforting. We may never know. This is not the time to make a case for the lifestyle of his choosing. An unfortunate incident looking for someone to blame. Students commit suicide over failing grades too but no one makes the case for studying.
