Schoolboys punished with detention for refusing to kneel in class and pray to Allah

Two schoolboys were given detention after refusing to kneel down and ‘pray to Allah’ during a religious education lesson.

Parents were outraged that the two boys from year seven (11 to 12-year-olds) were punished for not wanting to take part in the practical demonstration of how Allah is worshipped.

They said forcing their children to take part in the exercise at Alsager High School, near Stoke-on-Trent – which included wearing Muslim headgear – was a breach of their human rights.

  1. Will we ever be America again? We keep inviting any and everybody to come in and then allow them to change our country. If you allow a visitor in your home, they adapt to your home, your rules, or they have to leave. Why can't those coming to our country understand, to live here means they adapt to our way, rules, and english. No other Country puts up with the blaten crap with outsiders as America. I wish we had people in the White House that would stand for Americans instead of just grabbing another vote.

    • Tim asks: "Will we ever be America again?"

This story is from England and doesn't have anything to do with America.

      • Oft, our northern neighbour Canada copies Britain's stupid moves (one notable exception was "officious multiculturalism", which originated in Canada and then was copied in UK), and cannot be ignored as an influence in what will happen here (despite of having 10x the population of Canada, US is not immune to such effects).

        -Devasahayam
      • France for a starter. There are areas in France where even the police will not go because the muslims run those areas and the police are afraid of them

  4. Why is there no one screaming Separation of Church and State!

As islam claims to be a "Religion" of peace

    -crashaxe
    • This happened in England. They do not have our same seperation of church and state.

      -Jeff
    • I really am sick of hearing about separation of church and state. No where in the Constitution does it say that. What is says is that there shall be no establishment of a state religion such as in all Muslim countries. There is a big difference between banning all religion (which is what the liberal socialist governments do) in a country and not establishing a state religion.

      -Violet
      • Violet wrote: "There is a big difference between banning all religion (which is what the liberal socialist governments do) in a country and not establishing a state religion."

Nobody has proposed banning all religion in the U.S.

Can you show an example of this "banning" that isn't a case of the gov't favoring one religion over another?

        -joe agnost
      • There is a big difference between banning all religion (which is what the liberal socialist governments do) in a country and not establishing a state religion.

Name one church that has been banned in the US?

        -Jeff Dixon
      • No but the USSC in their all-knowing interpretation has sais that's what the Constitution meant. I don't quite get that- "Congress shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion, or the free exercise thereof". To me that means Congress shall make no law-one way or the other.

        -DaveP
      • DaveP says:

No but the USSC in their all-knowing interpretation has sais that’s what the Constitution meant.

  5. The families of these kids should be commended for teaching them that they still have the right to civil disobedience. It will happen in America if it hasn't already.

    -texrollie
    • Agreed! Good for the kids standing up for themselves.

I also love when it happens here in America – kids refusing to stand for Christian prayer or skipping the "under god" part of the pledge. You've gotta love kids with principles!

      -joe agnost
      • joe agnost I do not find the children refusing to stand for Christian prayer or skipping the “under god” part of the pledge American, that would be the teaching of the home.

if you do not like America leave. there is plenty of places that do not worship God. you will

fit in there. you better hope God never refuses to take care of us. this nation was built

on Gods rules. and we need them back. thank God that the people that fight for the pledge

  6. When you plan to stay in the USA you should adapt their way of living and their religion or else leave the USA. That is the way I believe period.

Jesus Christ is the only true GOD! If you do not accept him, than leave the USA. I was an emigrant myself from The Netherlands and I love everything America stands for! I am very proud of my new country the "USA"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    -Martha Veerman
    • Martha wrote: "If you do not accept him, than leave the USA."

Really? Being a Christian should be a legal test for residency within the USA?

Do you understand why people are fighting tooth and nail to keep this country secular?? Views like Martha's are SCARY AS HELL!

      -joe agnost
      • Like it or not, the USA WAS FOUNDED BY CHRISTIANS and FOR CHRISTIANS. Just review our History. Also, NO WHERE in the Constitution, Bill of Rights or in any other document is there any Clause, Law, or anything else that prescribes a SEPARATION between Church and State, If you find any such language in any of the original documents I would love to see it. However, the Founding Fathers did have the Wisdom to prescribe that the Government had NO RIGHT to interfere with the things that are GOD's. BIG DIFERENCE. And I would like to see any original document that mentions a Separation … I challenge all the believers in Separation to produce an Historical document mentioning such a thing …

        -seigrella
      • Seigrella wrote: "USA WAS FOUNDED BY CHRISTIANS and FOR CHRISTIANS"

If by "CHRISTIANS" you mean deists, christians, agnostics – then I agree.

        And why are you yelling?

        -joe agnost
      • I challenge all the believers in Separation to produce an Historical document mentioning such a thing …

Jefferson's Letter to the Danbury Baptists is where he mentioned the separation between church and state. That letter was written hundreds of years ago and is therefore, a historical document, which satisfies your silly challenge. I suspect you actually meant to ask for a legal document. What you need to understand is Jefferson's letter was written to clarify the founders intent about what the First Amendment meant. Therefore, the legal document is the Constitution. While it does not say separation of church and state, we have a founders remarks about what it means. That is why the courts use the same meaning, because it is not unclear what the intent was.

        -Jeff Dixon
      • Come on – people should be free to believe, or not believe, as they wish without interference from anybody. For example if someone wants to pray in school before class, (or say the pledge of allegiance), then let them. Nobody can MAKE you do either if you don't want to, but do not try to stop others. Just stand there respectfully and silently. The USSC decisions are all stretches and are out of touch with reality. The Constitution is perfectly clear. It's the USSC that's screwed up.

        -DaveP
      • DaveP wrote: "if someone wants to pray in school before class, (or say the pledge of allegiance), then let them."

They ~are~ allowed to do that. That is supported by the first amendment.

Are you claiming that students aren't allowed to pray in school? Because they most certainly are…

        -joe agnost
      • Joe:

Good luck when you face death. There is a saying "There are no atheists in the Foxhole". That means when you are facing death you will pray to God for deliverance.

You must be one ignoramous to be spouting your atheist views. There is a God and unless you change your ways, you will go to purgatory. You know that place with devils and pitchforks and fire and brimstone?

        -Elaine Connelly
      • Eleane wrote: "Good luck when you face death."

        Why thank you!

I actually faced death about 4 years ago – brutal car accident, I shouldn't have lived. I guess satan was looking out for me huh? ;)

Eleane cont'd: "There is a saying 'There are no atheists in the Foxhole'"

This is a myth (as a Christian it's just another myth you buy whole heartedly). Take a look at what an atheist in a foxhole looks like:

        http://livingwithmormons.com/wp-content/uploads/2

Here's a nice little story about atheists in foxholes:

        http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?stor

        Surprised?

And of the course we have the esteemed Christopher Hitchens who is presently fighting cancer and as rabid an atheist as ever!

Eleane finished with: "There is a God and unless you change your ways, you will go to purgatory. You know that place with devils and pitchforks and fire and brimstone?"

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to remember to bring marshmellows! ;)

        -joe agnost
  7. No! We do not desire sharia law, islam, and muslims to force us to bow down to their god, BECAUSE HE IS THE god of satan! We, are only to pray to THE G-D of ABRAHAM, ISSAC and JACOB. Not to allah. and to false profet , mohammed! We, do not want that man, obama, to lead OUR NATION down this Path of DESTRUCTION! We, pray to G-d, that we w3ill have a man in THE WHITE HOUSE that Loves JESUS CHRIST, and not allah!

  8. "All men will hate you because of me,but he who stands firm to the end will be saved." Matthew 10:22

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."John 16:33

If we live our lives in Jesus' name we will be persecuted. Jesus tells us that repeatedly. He wouldn't want us to beat anybody, instead be grateful for the persecution. The world that persecutes doesn't know Christ, but you do. Instead of being troubled at the prospect of persecution, they should rejoice, because that should always be a proof to them that they were in the very path in which Jesus himself had trod.

  9. No one can kid themselves into thinking this could never happen in the U.S. Islam is being taught in schools in California. I don't know why but can only assume people out there aren't too intellegent. Otherwise they would vote some of the stuff they've voted in, OUT. Any other religion has to watch since Islam is getting to be the 'new' thing to be involved in. And it's mostly the 'progressives' that want it. I assume they want to 'progress' from loving you enemies to killing your enemies.

    -Judy
    • Judy wrote: "Islam is being taught in schools in California."

That statement is too vague. In public schools? As part of a comparative religion course (which would then make it legal)? Where are these schools – specifically – and what exactly are they teaching about Islam?

      -joe agnost
      • When people immigrate to the US, presumably with the intent of becoming citizens, it is incumbent on THEM to adapt to our culture and laws. ( "When in Rome…). If they can't do that they, A.- shouldn't come here, or B.- leave. I could care less about their religion as long as it does not conflict with US law, and/or they don't try to ram it down our throats. One does not move to a foreign country andthen when there are enough of them, parade in the streets, block traffic and carry signs that say "Death to the USA", "Behead those who mock Islam", and murder and threaten to murder any journalist who writes anything against Islam. They do this in England, France, Germany, and the US. The geriatric 60's hippies who now hold elected office and preach PC to us all, somehow think it's possible to pick up a dog turd by the clean end. PC gets people killed. Why not call it what it is. There are no radical muslims or moderate muslims. There ARE loud in your face muslims and quiet, low-key muslims. Underneath they are all the same. They are all dangerous. Maybe nobody else noticed the so-called moderates celebrating and dancing in the streets on 9/11. 37 friends of mine were murdered on 9/11. On that day I learned all I need to know about them. Any other course is at your own peril. They will NEVER stop trying to kill us, unless we deal with this problem now.

        -DaveP
      • @DaveP: Why was your rant replied to my question about Judy's California school's claim?

I get it DaveP, you hate Islam and anyone who claims to be Muslim (even the one's turning in the terrorists apparently)… so what? Lot's of Christians feel that way (despite the 'love thy neighbour' stuff) – that's why I believe religion divides us.

        -joe agnost
      • Odd you didn't hear about it since I heard it on ABC news. OF course the way they talked about it was like the kids were just introduced to other religions. However I don't think religion should be taught in the schools.

        -Judy

I see police in these pictures.

        -David

I feel sorry for you "joe agnost", you must be a lonely and bored person, sitting around waiting to attack anyone trying to make since of this religion of Islam forcing itself on the entire world, which is the aim of Islam, their false prophet muhammad and false god allah. Allah by the way is the Sumeriam moon god, check the history.

    -Kalev
    • I'm an atheist Kalev – I can assure you, Islam is built on the same BS that all religions are. I'm no fan of Islam… it's Christianity with different stripes. Same s*** different pile.

  13. Kalev says:

I am sure you do. And atheists feel sorry for you. And protestants feel sorry for Catholics, who feel sorry for Muslims, who feel sorry for the Hindu's who feel sorry for Mormoms, etc, etc, etc. Every group feels sorry for the others who do not believe correctly.

But where you feel sorry for a lack of a belief, atheists feel sorry for people who are not rational. And there is a world of difference in that.

  14. God leaves us all free to either believe in Him in Christ Jesus, or not, as we wish.

God tells us, through His Word what we need to do if we want to be able to be with Him for eternity. We are not forced to believe it.

We are told to sow the seeds and God will bring in the crop.

So believe, or don't believe, but don't suffer fools. Don't argue with them. You might just as well be hollering up an empty tube as to do that.
