Other than the ACLU, Christians in America are not persecuted as they are throughout the rest of the world. We are blessed to live without fear of having our churches blown up or being treated like second-class citizens.

However, if Obama has anything to do with it, Christians living in Israel and throughout the Middle East will soon face more challenges than any of us here in America can imagine.

When I first heard Obama’s recent declaration that Israel should return to her pre-1967 borders (making the tiny country indefensible), my first thoughts were of my grandmother, Mildred (“MeeMaw”) Sides.

MeeMaw traveled to Israel (or ‘The Holy Land’, as she called it) two times—alone. She did this when I was a young girl and at the time I couldn’t imagine leaving my hometown alone, much less to another country. But alone she went, and she always talked about her trips to the Holy Land as the most special, sacred times of her life.
