When Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema brought Russell Wilson to campus, he used safety Aaron Henry to provide a litmus test for the quarterback.
If Henry liked Wilson, that would be good enough for Bielema to push hard to bring the former North Carolina State quarterback aboard.
“I always say in recruiting, you recruit your own problems,” Bielema said. “I wanted to make sure I wasn’t recruiting somebody who potentially was going to be a problem at Wisconsin.”
Bielema didn’t have to worry too much. Within minutes of meeting, Henry and Wilson clicked.
“Once I found out what kind of person he was, there wasn’t a question in my mind that coach Bielema got the right one,” Henry said. “This guy is legit.”
