Evangelization and Inter-religious Dialogue in America

The Special Council for America of the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops celebrated its sixteenth meeting from 27 to 28 October. According to a note published Friday, the meeting reflected upon such themes as the new evangelisation, inter-religious dialogue and the situation of the Church and society in various parts of the continent, in the light of the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation “Ecclesia in America”.

“‘Ecclesia in America’ reformulates for the continent of America the criteria used to evaluate non-Christian religions, as expressed by Vatican Council II Declaration ‘Nostra Aetate’”, the note reads. According to those criteria “the Catholic Church, while affirming the specific originality of Christianity, does not reject anything that is true and holy in non-Christian religions”.

    "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.     Roman Catholicism has for hundreds of years been pontificating ecumenism and working slowly but deliberately to establish a one-world religion…separate and apart from Biblical Christianity. Others joining that ilk are the liberal/socialists (social justice) apostates – e.g. Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, John Piper, etc.. Turn your back from these men and shake the dust from your shoes.

    If you are accept Jesus Cheist as your savior you are a Christian and NO other religion or non-religion matters to you beyond tolerating them and loving them as God does , they are just there and you have to cope with them until the LORD calls you home . To try to reconcile groups beyond Christ , other than to bring them into the fold is an act of futility .

    Winston, where do you get your info about John Piper? Please post your info so I can become informed. All I have heard about Piper is that he is a staunch conservative.

    Winston, where do you get your info? I would like your source of information especially on John Piper so I can become more informed. I always thought Piper was a very staunch conservative and a Reformed theologian who would have nothing to do with the Roman Catholics or other liberal ecumenical groups. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks
