Presidential hopeful Santorum first to sign religious freedom pledge

The 2012 presidential elections provide an incredible opportunity to advocate for persecuted Christians and people of all faiths worldwide. And Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is boldly taking a stand on this issue, according to The Christian Newswire.

Open Doors USA has partnered with professor Tom Farr of Georgetown University, an International Religious Freedom (IRF) expert, to produce and promote the Presidential Pledge for Religious Freedom.

Open Doors USA is presenting the pledge to presidential candidates -including Republican, Democratic, Libertarian and independent – asking each of them to sign it. Former Senator Rick Santorum is the first candidate to sign the pledge.

Santorum may be the first but he will not be the last. All will follow because they are all more concerned with their political careers than they are in a seditious act against Yahweh, the God of the Bible. Interpreted from the Bible, this is a pledge to promote breaking the First Commandment (Thou shalt have no other gods besides me [Yahweh]).

This is a big mistake , I cannot endorse or accept anything like this because of the unintented consequences such as just happened with the US air force just spending thousands to institute the worship of SATAN by building a chapel for satanists , not to mentiom the muslim who vow everyone will be a muslim or forfiet the lives as an ulimatum to the world . I don't know which is more evil , but NO Christian should sign this .

The problem I see with this is not freedom of religion for peaceful means, but freedom for a wicked ideology called islam. islam needs to be separated from a religion and put under the heading of, " a seditious ideology". I'islam' promotes nothing but terror under the guise of being from 'god' / 'allah/ muhammad. Read the qruan, and do not be duped by such silliness, for this silliness kills.

Rocketman: "The problem I see with this is not freedom of religion…." So you don't see any problem with a promotion to break the First Commandment?

I'd like to see a serious analysis of the misuse of constitutional articles to SUE schools and individuals with results contrary to the guarantiess of freedom of religion, especially in America. Don't give global freedom of religion when you're silent before lawsuits against Christians in the very same land from which you're preaching.

This is ecumentalism and should never be accepted. We should never accept a one world "religion" movement.

    • Winston

Oh, but it will happen. Just wait until the one-world everything is in place and everyone must take the mark of the beast upon their forehead or right hand. Many professed Chritians will cave in out of fear (of man) while those of us who refuse the mark will be driven "underground" in order to maintain and practice sincere Biblical Christianity. I fear no man, and have a profound reverential fear of God, yet know and believe HE will provide protection to me if Jesus is delayed in coming to catch up the true Church into the sky.

Yes, Winston, what you say will happen but all believers will be taken up to be with the Lord before that happens. Those who remain will go into the Tribulation and many will believe especially the 144,000 Jews who will be the evangelist during those 7 years.

I believe in and support the "religious freedom" clause in the U.S. Constitution. However, the government must use discernment on defining what is a religion and what is more than a religion with its hidden agenda. e.g., Islam is more than a religion (cult). Islam includes spiritual directives for its believers to do whatever it takes (lie, deceive, murder, etc.) to advance its beliefs. Islam is spiritual, legal, and political. If Islam gets its way in America, as it has in middle eastern nations and now forcing its beliefs on citizens of countries they've invaded for subversive reasons, it will destroy our Constitution, Rule of Law, and freedom of religion. No religion should dictate to the populace laws and beliefs that they must follow and adhere to or die….and that is just what Islam does.
