Newt’s Right on Sharia

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich was asked yesterday whether he would support a Muslim for president. His answer may have been one of the most important teaching moments of the long and difficult campaign season.

Speaker Gingrich responding by saying it depends on whether the candidate was “a modern person who happens to worship Allah.” Or “a person who belonged to any kind of belief in sharia, any kind of effort to impose that on the rest of us.” He rightly concluded by saying that the former would not be a threat while the latter would be a “mortal threat.”

Newt is absolutely right in making such a distinction. The danger we currently face from the so-called Muslim world arises not from the fact that people are Muslim, but from the extent to which they adhere to the totalitarian, supremacist Islamic doctrine of sharia.

  2. A Muslim as President was made possible by Amendment 1's provision for polytheism and thereby for a Muslim some day to be President (perhaps we already have one). Now, fellow Christians, please tell me how Amendment 1's provision comports with the First Commandment and its judgment (particularly Deuteronomy 13).

For more, see "Amendment 1: Government-Sanctioned Polytheism" at http://www.missiontoisrael.org/biblelaw-constitut….

    • For crying out loud Ted, you really said, "Amendment 1's provision for polytheism"???? The First Amendment does not make provision for polytheism, IT JUST DOESN'T OUTLAW IT like you insist before you will proclaim it a Christian document. You want the Constitution to prohibit everything you detest, but that's not its job. Its job is to limit temporal government and secure our God-given rights. One of which is the freedom to discuss and debate and come to our own conclusions about polytheism or anthing else..

You want a theocracy right now. But you are going to have to wait for Christ's return. Only he can run a theocracy righteously and I'm in favor of living under the U.S. Constitution until He comes back.

      -Vladimir
      • To not outlaw polytheism (as was done in the 17th-century Colonial governments) is an implicit promotion of polytheism and a unequivocal departure from what had been government policy previously, even in the States' Constitutions at the time.

You said, "You want the Constitution to prohibit everything you detest…." This is not true, I am attempting to wake up fellow Christians to the fact that it is not Biblically compatible.

You said, "Its job is to … secure our God-given rights." Nowhere does the Bible speak of God-given rights, only God-required responsibilities. However, even if it did, the Constitution sure has been inept at securing them for us, wouldn't you say? And, of course, since it legislates contrary to Yahweh's morality, it never was about securing anything Godly.

You said, "You want a theocracy right now." There is no escaping theocracy. A government’s laws reflect its morality, and the source of that morality (or, more often than not, immorality) is its god. It is never a question of theocracy or no theocracy, but whose theocracy. The American people, by way of their elected officials, are the source of the Constitutional Republic’s laws. Therefore, the Constitutional Republic’s god is WE THE PEOPLE.

You said, "Only he [Christ] can run a theocracy righteously…." This implies that unregenerate men with their immoral laws can do a better job running government than can regenerate man with Yahweh's perfect laws and altogether righteous judgments (Psalm 19:7-9).

        -TedRWeiland
      • Of course you can escape from a theocracy. it is done by realizing that the concept of god is simply a myth and embracing a rational view of the universe. It is accomplished by setting up rules of law that are based on helping people and not blinding following idiotic rules established by goat herders.

      • Jeff your at again lying as usual. How do you KNow that there is no God? Are so sure? You Can NOT prove your opinion as I can just by looking and living the way as I do.

Also here someone that you May listen too that did one time think as you do .
        http://www.jesus-loves-you.org/?p=4342&utm_so

And there are so many more witnesses to back him and others that are either was a atheist or muslim, end the ones that were on the fence to beleiev or not.

So Jeff there more info coming out that contradict your opinion, so are you so sure and willing to risk your and your family being on,

        -heath3435
      • Ted, let me address your first point. You said; "To not outlaw polytheism… is an implicit promotion of polytheism." You were criticizing the U.S. Constitution.

Then it follows that everything the Bible doesn't specifically outlaw, it is implicitly promoting. The atheists and anti-Christians could have a lot of fun with you on that point, Ted.

Conversely, by your reasoning, rational men could conclude that since the framers didn't outlaw Christianity in the Constitution, they were implicitly endorsing Christianity.

On another of your points, I said only Christ can run a theocracy righteously. That statement doesn't imply that "unregenerate men with their immoral laws can do a better job [of] running government…" as you said. A theocracy is a type of government, Ted. When Christ comes and reigns on earth, we will be under a theocracy, His government. An example of a man-made theocracy is in Iran. I prefer Jesus Christ as my master not an unregenerate Imam. By the way, when I say Jesus Christ, you can substitute Yahweh or Jehovah (if you are a Jehovah's Witness). Or even if you aren't.

        -Vladimir
      • Vladimir, come on! No one's going to make that argument. Everyone knows that the Bible condemns polytheism and, therefore, it doesn't have to condemn in on every page. Furthermore, contrast 17th-century Colonial America whose governments condemned polytheism, actually quoting the judgment for First Commandment violations (death) verbatim from the Bible and where, consequently, no polytheism existed, with where we are today thanks to Article 6 and Amendment 1 of the Constitution – that is the most polytheistic nation on the globe.

Also, if you read all that framer's had to say on the freedom of religion (much of which is quoted in the Chapter of my book cited above), and you will see they had all religions (not just Christianity) in mind when they worded Amendment 1.

        -TedRWeiland
      • Ted, If you still maintain as you once stated that, "To not outlaw polytheism… is an implicit promotion of polytheism." Then you are stuck with it and all of your criticisms of the U.S. Constitution based on that flawed premise fail.

        -Vladimir
      • You last paragraph doesn't "fly" any better than previous ones. But since I've already essentially addressed your points, I won't repeat myself.

I am not a Jehovah Witness, and have no problem using "Jesus" or "Christ" where appropriate.

        -TedRWeiland
      • Ted, are still there? Let me rephrase what I said into a question.

You stated that, "To NOT outlaw polytheism… is an implicit promotion of polytheism." You were condemning the U. S. Constitution. Are you aware that your statement is a false premise? Are you aware that conclusions drawn from a false statement are unsound. Are you aware that any of your criticisms derived from your false premise on our Constitution are likewise unsound. Are you going to correct your book?

        -Vladimir
      • Then your not a true christian, That just sits there on the fence wondering to fall foreward or backwards. Now it make sense who you are.

        -heath3435
      • Heather, the only thing I can gather from this is that you are a Jehovah Witness and believe that only Jehovah Witnesses are Christians.

        -TedRWeiland
      • Oh Ted your gasping for straws, WOW. Steeling other people comments, and plagerizism, Like everything else you have written.

I am Born again through and through.

  3. Newt draws a clear; distinct difference between the two and absolutely correct.

    • In excerpts of an interview scheduled to air on Thursday night, Marianne Gingrich claims that her ex-husband, Newt Gingrich, sought an "open marriage" before their own relationship ended.

In the interview with ABC News, Marianne Gingrich claims that when the then-House speaker told her of a long-term, six-year affair he was having with a congressional staffer (Callista Bisek, now his third wife), he asked if he could remain married to Marianne and continue the affair.

"I just stared at him and he said, 'Callista doesn't care what I do,'" Marianne Gingrich told ABC News. "He wanted an open marriage and I refused."

    • I do like the fact that he said most Muslims are good people.

  4. By Newt's own statement he would not vote for an orthodox Jew for president. It is a pity that the questioner didn't follow up with questions about the talmud. When will folks get over the "islamist" boogieman and realize these people are going through what Christianity went through centuries ago. The Muslim faithful have to handle their radicals internally and need help from the West not threats.

  6. A Muslim is a Muslim is a Muslim. They all teach their children to hate Jews and Christians, and their comic book koran teaches violence and hatred and dominance of the "infidels". I don't want a Muslim in my White House! We already have one now, and look how that's turning out! He has bowed to our enemies and treats our friends like pariahs!

    -Cynthia
  7. Excuse me but Newt was off on this one. ALL Muslims including our president are taught the same thing. They can lie but can't become 'close' to any Christian. World domination is their goal and they are trying to take over our country from the 'inside'. A Christian to a Muslim is someone who should be converted or beheaded.

    -Eve
  8. Goggle Walid Shoebat if you want to understand what is going on with the Muslims. It is chilling and will make you take a second look at all you thought you understood.

    -Eve
  9. Speaking of world domination, read " The Godmakers", and see who else proposes taking over the world. mormons are mormons first, and Americans second!!

    -Linn
  10. This is why I can't vote for Newt……. So what now. we establish and government agency to determine whether Muslims are new world or old world before immigration papers are signed…….that's a joke. We simply have to end Muslim immigration to America period and deport them unless we want another middle east here which has already some signs. Islam is trying to overtake us via democracy..

  11. The Only Good muslim is a Dead muslim ,PERIOD !!!

  12. Newt is wrong on this because as a converted Roman Catholic he is a enumenical religious person and would be so as President. The current Pope of the Roman Catholic church has come out to say that the world needs to have a one-world government and by stating that he is apostate to Biblical Christianity and is anti-American (national sovereignty). And once a one-world government is in place with a global leader, then a one-world economy will follow (if it doesn't precede the global government) and then a one-world religion (a ecumenical convergence of Catholic, Islam, Hindu, Mormon, et al) and all sincere Christians will be persecuted and isolated to be marginalized at least. Are you ready for that kind of leader? I sure hope not because that is exactly what we have right now…in illegitimate president Obama.

    -Winston
  13. An ecumenical convergence of Catholic, Islam, Hindu, Mormon, et al will come to pass for sure during the Tribulation period. It may begin before then but will not be completed until after the exit resurrection of all believers. We are seeing things happening in our life time that makes one believe the we are close to our meeting our Lord in the air but a great Bible Doctrine revival could also take place and our Nation will be changed for God. In the meantime, learn God's Word and apply it.
Luke 18:27 But He said, "The things that are impossible with people are possible with God."
Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

    • He who has an ear, let him hear. The last "white" pope is in his advanced years and failing quickly. He will be replaced by a "black" (no color) pope representing evil (satan and anti-Christ). So, Jesus' second coming is very near. If you are not saved (sincere acceptance and belief that Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Almighty God, he lived, died a sacrificial death (for the sins of the whole world) and arose from the dead and ascended into heaven, then please do so now because if you miss the rapture of the true Church you will enter the great tribulation under the dictatorial rule of Satan's emissary – the Anti-Christ.

      -Winston
      • the 'rapture' you speak of is a delusion . You and eveyone should be looking for the return of Zion the New Jeruslam as a place of safety until the end comes . I'm predicting the invasion of the u.s.a. at the end of 2015 to prepare for the times of the of end .The black pope controls things now but as you say come into the open .

        -ned kelly
    • Sorry, msjallen, don't know where you are getting your information, but the Mormon church won't be converging with any religion, ideology, pop trends, ecumenical or not.

      -Vladimir
  14. We could never trust a Muslim candidate for President because the Koran gives Muslims the authority to lie to unbelievers to further the cause of Islam which is to eliminate all non-muslims. It also encourages jihad and a "convert or die" option for unbelievers. Our nation was founded on Christian principles and we need to get back to those basic concepts. Unfortunately I have to somewhat agree with msjallen that we are seeing end times events playing out in our lifetimes and the eventuality of a one world government and religion are out of our control. We just need to decide where our commitment lies and be willing to die for what we believe if it comes to that. We need to stand for God's truth even in the event of persecution.

    -BeaPearson
  15. Goggle Walid Shoebat if you want to understand what is going on with the Muslims. It is chilling and will make you take a second look at all you thought you understood. This man is a convert to Christianity from Islam. He knows Muslims inside and out. Check him out.

  16. So I wonder if the ALAC laws keep the Bible from being considered in court cases. It is definitely not an American document.
