Obama gave less than a half-percent to the church

An analysis of 12 years of tax returns recently released by President Barack Obama from 2000 to 2011 shows that the First Family donated 1.4 percent or less of their income to charity until he began to run for the U.S. Senate in 2004, and gave only nominal amounts to the church except for substantial donations to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's Trinity Church of Christ in 2006 and 2007.

The analysis performed by The Christian Post shows that from 2000 to 2011, the Obamas reported an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $18,677,610, of which they paid $5,794,492, or 31 percent, in taxes. Almost this entire amount was taxed as ordinary income based on the particular bracket the Obamas fell into from year-to-year, as compared to the 15 percent tax rate on long-term investment income that many individuals who have significant investment income, such as GOP candidate Mitt Romney, pay.

Over the same 12-year period, President and Mrs. Obama gave $1.3 million to various charities, ranging from a low of $1,050, or .4 percent of their income in 2002, to $172,130, or 21.8 percent of their income in 2011. Overall, from 2000 to 2011, the Obamas gave 6.9 percent of their AGI to charity, and less than a quarter of a percent was reported as donated to churches.

A few of the charities that received substantial gifts from the Obamas include CARE, Habitat for Humanity, Fisher House, United Negro College Fund and the Congressional Black Caucus.

The liberal obamas gave less than half the percentage to charity that my conservative wife and I gave and we made less than 10 percent of what they made. That does not surprise me because liberals see "charity" as taking from others to give to their favorite charity – the parasites who support liberal programs. By the way, the congressional black circus (caucus) is not a charity. it is a collection of witless clowns. Obama is a true one percenter.

  As "one nation under God", it is important to know the fruit of the people we vote into office. We are not to judge but the Word of God also says we are to be aware. Ignorance of turning our attention against issues like this is why God is being pushed out of America – it is clear by this story that Barack Obama's financial focus and sense of loyalty is not with God but with the state. We are to judge peoples actions but not their hearts.

I think that will help you get a handle on your Christianity. Your heart is in the right place, you just need to learn how to relate to other people. Act like a follower of JESUS CHRIST, not like a warden ready to question and slam us to the ground if we do not measure up. THAT IS WHAT I MEANT ABOUT KINDNESS.

I was criticized at my office one year as they were taking pledge cards for The United Way campaign. I had put "0" as my donation amount and the person in charge confronted me. I explained that, because the United Way had taken the Boy Scouts out of their list because they wouldn't let Gays be leaders (sleeping in tents with little boys), I would send my donation directly to the Boy Scouts. When he said I should "give something", I told him I give 12% to my church and maybe he should give 12% to the United Way if he felt so moved. I doubt that I convinced him, which is good because they support Planned Parenthood's war on women and babies.

  I have had the same thing happen to me and they wanted to know how much I gave to my church so they could count it on their tab. I said no way and fortunately my boss agreed with me. The woman I had to work with was totally legalistic about it and would not even speak to me. We as believer must stand our ground on what we believe.

  Good for you Jimbo. I did the very same thing when the CFC (Combined Federal Campaign) came around in the military. It's one of those 'commander's scorecards', but they have so many liberal and perverted organizations within it, that I told them I'd give nothing to that extortion racket. I too prefer to give to my local church, not some bureaucratic organization on a hill.

  Of course it's NOT anyone's business, and that's between the individual and the Man upstairs. Unlike you and me and the public at large, our records are not of the public's interest…generally speaking. That being stated, a politician's and especially the president's tax returns, are quite the opposite. And for someone like Obama, who rails on and on about the rich and their greed, and how conservatives are little more than slave-masters, than it's incumbent upon that turd to set the example. Yet Obama DOES NOT set an example in his philanthropy, and certainly not to any church. I don't agree with Mitt Romney's faith and dotrine, but he gives (tithes) admirably. Obama is a bad example, full of envy and greed for his friends and benefactors, and he cannot be honest about such issues because there is dishonesty in his very policies and his message.

Obama's 'religion' is really an amalgamation of everything he's about. He has more experience as a Muslim in Indonesia than anyone in America typically realizes. His mother and grandparents weren't christians, not in any conventional gospel explounding way, and they were liberal social-justice church goers, of the kind that Jerry Wright blathers on about. They view Jesus as just an educator, vaguely a prophet, and that's why Obama can be a Muslim and 'say' he's christian too. His view of christianity is a contorted one, positively NOT evangelical.
