Mrs. Gates vs. the Catholic Church

Melinda Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and a Catholic, is telling governments to dismiss the controversial link between contraception and population control and explicitly rejects Catholic social teaching along the way.  Her rhetoric is part of her multi-billion dollar foundation’s new “NoControversy” campaign to reinforce universal access to birth control as a priority in the developing world.

Speaking at a TedxChange conference in Berlin, Germany, Gates argued that contraception has been mistakenly associated with population control, abortion, forced sterilization, and mortal sin and insisted they are “side issues” that “have attached themselves to the core idea that men and women should be able to decide when to have a child.”

Yet even Gates herself admitted that for years population control and contraception have become synonymous in the developing world, with countries like India “adopt[ing] unfortunate incentives [and] coercive methods as part of their family planning programs” in the 1960s and indigenous women in Peru being “anesthetized and sterilized without their knowledge” as recently as the 1990s.

Though these coercive practices may have fallen out of favor, it may be far harder for organizations like the Gates Foundation to separate their own promotion of contraception entirely from population control.

Wow, how old she looks… You would think with all that money she could have a better skincare.

so lets have a pic of you Despeville…

  • Robert De Leon

Another anti-catholic Catholic, as same as Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Biden and Ms. Sibelius.
    Robert.

    • Despeville

Yes, the vast anti Roman Catholic conspiracy is so expansive and extensive. I wonder if they are some hateful, mean, nasty anti Roman Catholics on the dark side of the moon. What do you think?

      • http://conservativebyte.com Michael G.

Since you're not a Catholic, what'ta' you care?

        • http://youtu.be/zjgBhpanOfQ Despeville

I care because of Roman Catholic propaganda designed to herd gullible into their spiritual slaughter houses. That is why.

        • KnowTheTruthToday

I am not a Catholic because I believe differently than they do. Looks like even a moron or an idiot could figure this out: If I do not believe Catholic doctrine, get out of the Catholic Church.

    • Despeville

      DEmelon,

By the way aren't Pelosi, Biden Roman Catholics? Are they not on your masses eating "god"? Are they not on roll call of their parishes? are they not receiving absolutions from your Roman priests? So by what right and what logic you a fellow Roman Catholic can disavow and disown them of the faith you share with them? Are you a pope?

      • guest

I don't believe those catholic in name only politicians go to church, pay tithes, receive reconciliation or any of the other parts of catholicism. They may show up in the pews when its a good photo op. Because they visit the pews and stand up to speak for/against their church does not mean they speak for the true believers. Check out the meaning of politicism." Pope-ess" Pelosi even had a chat with the Pope and didn't change her ways. She is ABOVE all that and can do things HER way…in her mind. Poor representative she is. Don't let HER shine on the masses of believers. By their fruits shall you know them. Look at their fruits and decide if you will stand beside them. I do not stand beside any of those political catholics who don't participate beyond empty words. Even Satan knows that Jesus is the Son Of God and IS God.

        • Despeville

Great but how is any of that any different from so many average Roman Catholics attending their churches? It is not. So many of them have exactly same views on same issues as Pelosi does and if you are not willing to recognize that then I cannot help you there.

          • myth buster

Only that she is leading other people into sin by publicly approving of things that are gravely immoral. To the rest, I agree with you: those who are practicing contraception or who have participated in an abortion or have sex out of wedlock or knowingly and deliberately do any other grave evil or encourage the same from others are not to receive Communion unless and until they repent of their sins and confess them. If they defy this teaching and receive Communion anyway, they are "eating and drinking condemnation upon themselves."

      • http://conservativebyte.com Michael G.

You're not a Catholic. So what's it to you?

        • http://youtu.be/zjgBhpanOfQ Despeville

I am also not a cricket player and you are not either.

      • myth buster

No, they are not receiving absolution, for they cannot be absolved while they persist in their heresies and blasphemies and persist in encouraging others to sin by abortion. They may indeed be going to Confession, and their priests may indeed be praying the prayer of absolution, but it is worthless to them, for they have not repented and confessed these mortal sins, and they thereby commit sacrilege by their bad confessions, if indeed they are bothering to go to Confession at all.

They had better not be eating Christ's Flesh and drinking His Blood, for every time they do, they commit a sacrilege against the Blessed Sacrament, and thus incur bloodguilt for desecrating the Body and Blood of Christ, for if they take Communion, they do so unworthily, so long as they persist in their obstinate sin.

Do not be deceived, they stand automatically excommunicated for advocating legalized abortion and obstinately refusing correction. The excommunication is easy to lift, for they need only to renounce their public sins and make a good confession, but so long as they refuse to do that, the Sacraments cause them harm, not good.

Do you criticize the Federal Government under President Obama's leadership? Does this make you and anti-American American?

There is nothing wrong with trying to change bad policies. Contraception should be a no brainer. It prevents unwanted pregnancies and it prevents abortions.

      • Robert De Leon

So, if a woman doesn't want a pregnancy does she have to MURDER? You better take a look on statistics regarding this issue.
        Robert.

        • daves

Nope – she just has to abstain or use contraception.

      • KnowTheTruthToday

No one forces a person to be a Catholic – if you want to use contraception (which by the way I think is ok) join a Church that condones it –

If the ladies want to prevent pregnancy no one is stopping them – why should you or anyone else dictate Catholic doctrine (just so you know, I am not Catholic, and do not agree with their doctrine) – let them run their own business.

I think there is a HUGE anti-catholic evil that is out to destroy the longest standing church. Nothing new there. Just more open and vicious now. We wage not against men but against spiritual evil. All the Christians joining in this move do not see that they are next. They have 'nits" to pick with Catholics so will join in, until their turn arrives. Spiritual Armor for ALL is the only way to fight this evil. The fact there are anti-catholics speaking FOR/Against their own church is SO SAD. We haven't seen anything yet as to where this is headed. Stand strong trusting in Jesus. Call evil- EVIL. Call good -GOOD. Love one another. Pray.

    • Despeville

Yes, it is HÜÜÜÜÜÜGE but only propaganda of it. Roman Catholicism in terms of its official teachings and doctrine and practices not Christian nor is "god" of Roman Catholicism the same God who reveled Himself as contained in the Word of God and worshipped by Christians. Those are not "nits" as you enchant yourself with but vast and massive differences minimized only by ignorance or intentional scheming.

      • myth buster

Name the false doctrines and the date they were introduced, if you can.

  • Bobseeks

I guess marrying a rich, predatory businessman must confer some kind of instant credibility to someone who otherwise would have no audience.
