What the Palestinians Want

The Palestinians want the US to endorse all their demands and force Israel to give them everything. Palestinians are reminded almost every day that the US, which has been providing them with billions of dollars, is a foe rather than a friend, although no one seems to ask how come a foe is so generous. US aid should be conditioned not only on transparency and accountability, but also on an end to the campaign of hatred and incitement, as officially agreed in the Oslo accords, but never implemented.

No matter how much the US tries to help the Palestinians, it will always be viewed by many of them as an enemy.

Last week, President Barack Obama gave $147 million to the Palestinians. A few days later, Palestinians demonstrated in Ramallah against the US and boycotted a ceremony held by the US Consulate-General.

The protesters carried placards which read: "USAID go out!" and "We reject aid from those who deny our people the right to self-determination."

USAID is the leading provider of bilateral development assistance to the Palestinians. This agency has given the Palestinians more than $3.5 billion since 1994 for programs in the areas of democracy and governance, education, health, humanitarian assistance, private enterprise and water resources and infrastructure.

  Technically, there is no such thing as "a Christian nation," so you might want to be careful how you use that term. As far as surviving Obama, our Republic has survived much worse and has come out resilient, so I think we can survive another 4 years of Barack if we have to.

so uhhh the question is why are we providing aid to the enemy? and isn't that treasonous conduct by the senior leader of the u.s.? additionally, it seems so many focus on obama as if he is running the country, but congress is as much to blame as his dork ups. the only way to clean up the mess is to get back to the constitution and remove anyone from office that was a part of the old system no matter how wonderful they might be (use them as advisor's at most when we get back to the way things should be).

Arabs lived in Palestine in peace with their Jewish neighbors. Then the Jews forced them out with Western aid. Was their a Palestinian State? No, but Arabs don't believe in Nation States per se. The Palestinians were Arabs who lived in Palestine. They were being ruled at that time by Turkish Muslims. But by forcing them out and off their land, we created a ''Palestinian People" whereas before they didn't think of themselves that way.       The Balfour Declaration didn't kick anybody out. 75% of the Mandate for Palestine became Jordan. The rest of what used to be the Ottoman Empire became Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Of the 25% that was left of the Mandate, Israel was going to get three slivers of land and the palestinians would get the rest. The British turned back Jews seeking refuge whose fate was the gas chambers. That was keeping them in line, I guess. I don't think 1/4 of 1% of the available land mass is too much to ask for the Jews to live in.The arabs, gays, and women who live there have equal rights, unlike the surrounding nations. Many of the palestinians came to the region because of economic opportunities afforded by the Zionists, and weren't native to the area.

All over Israel, in 1948 was nothing but desert. It was a land void of buildings and farms. It was the Israelis who made it a teeming garden in those desert sands. What the Palestinians see is what a little hard work does for the area. They could not do it, and didn't have the audacity to do it. But in 64 years the Israeli have done what for thousands of years had not been done. No the Palestinians don't want the work, they just want what has already been built. What the United Nations need to do is to give the Palestinians a country of their own: like in IRan or Saudi Arabia where they can start from the ground up. They still won't be satisfied.

"It is from the term "Philistines" that the name "Palestinians" has been taken. Actually, the ancient Philistines and modern Palestinians have something in common: both are invaders from other lands. That is precisely the meaning of their name, that is not an ethnic denomination but an adjective applied to them: Peleshet, from the verb "pelesh", "dividers", "penetrators" or "invaders".

The Philistines were a confederation of non-Semitic peoples coming from Crete, the Aegean Islands and Asia Minor, also known as "Sea Peoples". The Philistines were organized in city-states, being the most important the Pentapolis: Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron, and their territory was close to the Mediterranean coast, a little longer and broader than the present-day "Gaza Strip" – not the whole Judah, they never reached Hevron, Jerusalem or Yericho.

Those Sea Peoples that invaded Egypt were expelled towards other Mediterranean lands and did not evolve into any Arab people, but disappeared as distinguishable groups in Roman times. Those dwelling in Canaan were defeated by King David and reduced to insignificance, the best warriors among them were chosen as David's bodyguard. The remaining Philistines still dwelling in Gaza were subdued by Sargon II of Assyria and after that time, they disappeared definitively from history. They are no longer mentioned since the return of the Jewish exiles from Babylon.

Conclusion: there is not one single person in the world who may be able to prove Philistine lineage, yet, if Palestinians insist, they have to recognize themselves as invaders in Israel, and then they must ask Greece to return them back the Isle of Crete! The Philistines are extinct and claims to alleged links with them are utterly false as they are historically impossible to establish. In any case, claiming a Philistine heritage is idle because it cannot legitimate any land in which they were foreign occupants and not native dwellers.

Philistines were not Arabs, and the only feature in common between both peoples is that in Israel they should be regarded as invaders, Philistines from the sea and Arabs from the wilderness. They do not want Jerusalem because it is their city, which is not and never has been, they simply want to take her from the Jews, to whom she has belonged for three thousand years. The Philistines wanted to take from Israelites the Holy Ark of the Covenant, modern so-called Palestinians want to take from them the Holy City of the Covenant.

The Palestinians: No, they are not any ancient people, but claim to be. They were born in a single day, after a war that lasted six days in 1967 c.e. If they were true Canaanites, they would speak Hebrew and demand from Syria to give them back their occupied homeland in Lebanon, but they are not. If they were Philistines, they would claim back the Isle of Crete from Greece and would recognize that they have nothing to do with the Land of Israel, and would ask excuses to Israel for having stolen the Ark of the Covenant. Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, and Israel were all created out of the Ottoman Empire, yet the only one whose legitimacy is questioned is Israel's.
Israel exists on 1/4 of 1% of the available land mass. The 22 Arab League nations cover 6 million square miles whereas Israel comprises 8000.
It's not about land or palestinian rights, it's about the destruction of Israel.
