A New Dark Age?

There are days and, then, there are days.

In 1948, T.S. Eliot assumed that western civilization moved inexorably toward a new dark age. “We can assert with some confidence that our own period is one of decline,” he lamented. “The standards of culture are lower than they were fifty years ago; and the evidences of this decline are visible in every department of human activity.”

One can only shake his head in wonder and bewilderment at what Eliot might write in 2012.

In the elite world of affairs, the powerful steal more and more through the machinery of politics, depriving us not only of liberty but, of course, of justice. There is, in no real sense, neither liberty nor order, internally or externally.

Judgement Will come to them all…

Matt. 19:23, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven." (KJV)

2 Tim. 3:1-5, "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." (KJV)

Jude 1:15-22, "To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference:" (KJV)

During the Dark Ages the common people did not read or speak Latin and the truth of the Word of God was not made known to them except what the RCC wanted them to know and it was mostly religious dogma. Today we have the written Word of God in every known language and most people can read except in 3rd World countries. However, most people today do not take advantage of learning God’s Word and this could very well lead us into a time of spiritual darkness. Our churches are not teaching the Bible; they are entertaining and using gimmicks that don’t work on a day to day basis for living the Christian way of life.

    • Robert De Leon

      msjallen:
What you say must be in "evangelical" churches, not in the Catholic Church. Were you go to daily Mass in a 3 years period you would hear the entire Bible. Go back to the origin and become a Christian Catholic.
      Robert.

"Christian Catholic" is an oxymoron. Why would you go to mass and eat "god" if that does not accomplish as single thing beyond blasphemy?

        • Robert De Leon

          Desperville:
I go to Mass just because this (taken form King James version"):

          St. John, Chapter 6:
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.48 I am that bread of life.49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

            Part 2
            St. Luke, Chapter 22:
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

St. Paul 1 Corinthians, Chapter 11:
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

DeLeon, you quoting Scripture is completely meaningless to what they truly mean for you assign to them a different meaning mandate to you not by God the Holy Spirit but by your Roman magisterium which claims that influence. In doing so you are no different than Jehovah Witness who also must read into the texts what The Watchtower tells him to read.

          • Robert De Leon

Since your stand point of view, the whole Bible is meaningless, isn't?
            Robert

          • http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22306708/Jn6.37.png Despeville

Nope. That is your straw man and bogus assertion nowhere to be found in what I said…

          • Joe Anzilotti

Hey, has anyone seen my funny hat? How biblical can one get?

          • http://rationalresponses.blogspot.com/ Jeff Dixon

Joe, no one is concerned about your hat.

          • http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22306708/Jn6.37.png Despeville

Why do you quote KJV to me? Do you think it has any special meaning or something? It just shows how biased you are… Pay attention to verse 62 for it explains what you do not understand what they did not either. Mass does not save. It has no slavific effect. Does it not? Therefore it is at the very least completely useless.

          • Robert De Leon

Because that's what you can read in King James Bible. That's why.
Another thing. I always have sustained that Lutheranism, Calvinism and some other "deformer" Protestant churches are more likely to Jeovah Witness. Strange, isn't?
            Robert

          • http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22306708/Jn6.37.png Despeville

Strange is your inability to reason and read arguments. Notice how you have run from verse 62 into your vomit of smearing. Sad watching your slavery.

          • Evermyrtle

Robert, Don't fret over Dessie, he would cut down JESUS CHRIST if he doesn't believe what HE says. Jut like the scribes, in His lifetime on earth.

Here are few of the many scriptures where JESUS faced such controversy. If HE could stand up to it, we must make an effort to put it aside.

Matt. 12. 24 When the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow does not castout devils, but by Beelzebub, the prince of devils
19.3 The Pharisees also came unto HIM, tempting HIM, and saying unto HIM, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause.

Luke 11:53 And as He said these things unto them, the scribes and the pharisees began to urge HIM vehemently and to provoke HIM ot speak of many thins:
54.. Laying wait for HIM, and seeding to catch something out of HIS mouth, that they might accuse HIM.

Mark 3:22 And the scribes which cane down for Jerusalem said, "HE hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils cast HE out devils.

Roman Catholicism is an example of what Jesus warned against as being "Nicolaitan" in his Revelation given to the apostle John. It's a man-made socio-political-religious cult and NOT Biblically Christian. To tell someone to "go back to the origin and become a Christian Catholic" is as apostate as you can get because Catholicism was NOT in the beginning of the "church" because it started in the 3rd or 4th century AD with Constantine. And, Peter was NOT the first Pope as Catholics deceive the world with. It's sad that a cult like RC has even existed as long as it has because it is a man-made apostasy of Biblical Christianity.

        • Robert De Leon

          Winston:
As a good Protestant "deformer" you misunderstand the Bible and every "deformer" can interpret the Bible whatever they like it. The Lord's Word is only One. The word "Catholic" it was used for the first time in Century III. You "deformers" can believe whatever that some ignorant – and even hatred – people may say against Catholicism. The Catholic Christian Church is the only Religion founded by our Dear Lord Jesus Christ (God) as we can read in next texts:
          Isaiah, 22: 20-22
          St. Matthew, 16:18-19
          St. Luke, 22:31-32
          Acts, 15:7-9
          Robert.

          • msjallen

Robert, I have looked up all those scriptures you give here in other posts and they do not line up with what the Bible teaches. The RCC is nothing but a religion of power and money that Satan has managed to control by letting just a tiny bit of truth leak out to make it look right but is false to the core. I am sure there are some Catholics who are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ but God's plan of salvation is not taught according to the Word of God.

          • Robert De Leon

            msjallen:
Your comment assures me that King James Bibe (a "deformer" version) is the way that you Protestant people use the Bible as you wish and at your own interpretation. Therefore you always are misunderstanding the Bible, misguiding and making false statements. Do you know why? Because the texts that I sent to you are precisely from King James Bible – that is to say a freak of the Word of the Lord. Susprised?
Protestatism has too many sins and it would take a long time to number. One of such a sins is what we read in the Bible (again King James version): John, Chapter 17:15-23
            Robert.

          • msjallen

Wrong again, Robert, I no longer use the KJV since it is not closest to the original languages the Bible was written in

          • http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22306708/Jn6.37.png Despeville

DeMelon I use about six different translations in three languages and none of them is KJV…
You are sadly duped into your cliche canards.

          • Evermyurtle

            Wow!!!

          • Ralph Cramden

It's not effective nor appropriate to use scriptures to beef up your argument, for those scriptures refer to the True church, and that church is most certainly NOT the roman catholic. The RC congregation is little more than theatrics tied to a lengthy liturgical presentation. Anyone who believes they can pray the Rosary and run around the stations of the cross is positively OCD, but it's not scriputural nor beneficial. What a sham the RC crutch has become. What a mass of deception is it. It's really a shame that so many worldwide are deceived by the papacy and the college of cardinal clowns. I love to watch the Borgias on showtime, and just think of the origins of the RC crowd when I do so.

Rev.18: 4 And i heard another voice from heaven, saying Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins and that you receive not of her plagues.
    5. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and GOD has remembered her iniquities.
    6. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works; in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double

It seems that in every age, satan tries to destroy and distort knowledge and keep people from knowing the truth of any subject. It was particularly so in the 'dark ages' but it has always happened to some extent. In the Old Testament, only about eight to ten chapters cover nearly 2,000 years of history from Adam to Abraham. Today, there are so many conflicting arguments about almost any subject that it's difficult to find the truth.

    • William Graham

One has to be open to study, and with diligence you can understand and sort it out. God will provide that understanding through his Holy Spirit. Satan has destroyed many through the artifices of religious worship and with man creating these extensive church political operations. Sort through this and you will see that many well-organized churchs, especially the roman catholic groups, will distract you with errant traditions and extra-biblical writings. Most of that, along with Popish writings, will tell you things in direct contradiction to the scriptures. That said, let scripture be your final watchword. If anything disagrees with the Good Book, then confront it and press on.
