Child's Jesus Drawing Sparks Controversy

A student-drawn picture posted inside the lobby of Hamilton Elementary School in Fresno, California is sparking debate over whether it's sacrilegious or just another assignment.

The hand-drawn picture is of Jesus with the caption: "I want you to kill all infidels," reports ABC30.

Below on the poster are the phrases: "meet me in Jerusalem" and "get a free ticket to heaven."

Parent [and Christian] Chris Alfaro told ABC30: "I do believe common sense tells you, 'Hey this may not be appropriate for a k through 8 school, right in the main lobby where each child passes on their way to school and home.'"

Alfaro's wife first noticed the drawing in early March and called the school office to complain. Alfaro Recalled: "The aide said something along the lines of I'll see what I can do, and then hung up the phone."

Notice how they will allow a religious picture to remain in public schools as long as it mocks Christ. But God forbid we put up the 10 Commandments…

2 Tim. 3:2, "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God." (KJV)

This is not our JESUS CHRIST depicted here, It is the Jesus of the Muslims. They have a Jesus, too, one who they claim did not die on the cross, he did not rise from the grave. Their Jesus is , one who is completely powerless as a god. This drawing is to draw attention away from our JESUS, to try to discredit HIM, in any and every thing or way, that they can. These people are Islams who say that GOD had no son. They are so misled and are trying to impose their false belief on the entire world. They will make progress for a while.

Matt. 24: 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Matt. 23:39 For I say unto you,k You shall not see me henceforth, till you shall say, "Blessed is HE that comes in the NAME OF THE LORD.

John 14: 28 You have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If yo loved me you would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the FATHER for my my FATHER greater, than I am..

    • Stephen

Boy, you stated a mouth full!

    • Richard Colonel

You got to remember that nobody wants to hear the Truth. much less listen to the Truth. And the Truth spoke the Truth and his own rejected Him. All these churches that are full to capacity are filled solely because the pastors of those churches rather than preaching the Truth, the Word of God, preach only the nice things. They preach only those things that will not offend the people. Teach them the truth and a congregation will not be back until the next Mother's Day or the next Christmas day.

      • Bill1776

Reply to Richard Colonel: The church is the people and the building they meet in is God's house.

  • Buck

That is not a picture of JESUS , that is a picture of Mohammed , made obvious by his command to kill all infidels ,( meaning Christians and Jews ) .

    • Victoria

Hi Buck, it IS a picture of the Muslim Jesus – they believe he will come back and do just what the child's picture indicates – kill all the "infidels" that believed he was the Son of God. This is what Muslim children are taught, right along with the taking of Jerusalem. And, Min. Thomas Allen is correct: if the picture mocked Mohammed, it would be a hate crime, if it mocks Christianity, it is free speech – certainly a last days scenario.

      • Jerry

It is refreshing to see there are some starting to understand the Islamic beliefs. Too many Christians still believe that Islam is just another version of Christianity and that it is a "religion of peace." People need to realize Islam is not just a religion, and definitely not one of peace. In reality it is a theocratic ideology that encompasses all aspects of a Muslim's life, and whose core text teaches deceit, destruction and death!

        • Wise old guy

Islam is an agenda for world domination! No way is it remotely a religion. As a "non-religion it does NOT deserve the protection of the 1st amendment!

      • Evilmyrtle

You have got the picture exactly correct. That is the Muslim Islams idea of Jesus, one as full of evil as are they.

      • gertie

But we are fed the line about muslims are "love". Only if we attack first, are they righteous in their killing. Only the extremist muslims are to be feared. Bullcrap! Even Sharia law is ok in the United States due to the first amendment. So if the male is offended by something a woman does, killing her is ok? It is the woman who are struck down. Muslims plain old scare me and we are stupid enough to allow them to gathr in the United States in larger and larger numbers.

    • http://rationalresponses.blogspot.com/ Jeff Dixon

The picture shows the person is wearing a cross. Seems pretty likely is is supposed to be Jesus. They probably also asked the child who the picture was of as well.

      • M Green

So, if I draw a picture of Darwin saying these things he wouldn't say, would YOU accept it as Darwin? Or would you be offended?

        • http://rationalresponses.blogspot.com/ Jeff Dixon

Offended? Not in the least. You are entitled to your free speech. And if it was humourous, I would also chuckle. But Jesus will be coming down to kill unbelievers during the Judgement Day according to your book.

          • Evermyrtle

Have you read that book? All of it? one time or more that one time? You cannot get all the information in one or in two readings. so if you have not done a study, don't try ti explain it. Your comment proves that you have no understanding of GOD'S WORD.

    • beachbum2010

I agree ,that sure looks more like mohammed,he was ugly in all ways, but I wonder where are all the muslims, as you cannot show cartoons of mohammed or you will have jihad on you so ,who ever made this may get death theats .

  • Grumpy Old Man

Perhaps I could clear up the problem by suggesting that the caption should be changed to " I want you to kill all ignorant school officials, and those who are politically correct . Definition of Political correctness, " Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick a turd by the clean end."

    • Chris

It still just as stupid. Religious nuts wanting to kill people they don't like

  • Patschmidt12

No wonder so many people are home schooling. The public school system has lost it's mind. The only way to get anything done is to get a lot of people and go to a school board meeting. Those people are voted in and if they want to keep their jobs they have to do what the public demands or vote them out!

    • http://www.divinenewsnetwork.com Min. Thomas Allen

This is true, My wife just started getting all the course material so she can do that with our children. At the moment our two boys 6 & 4 are in public school and one of them came home with a purple women's purse artwork and my wife asked why he was caring a purple purse with the slogan no bullies written on it and a rainbow. My 6 year old shrugged his shoulders saying I do not know, they just made us make these in school. Since then my wife will be removing our kids from school in order to save them from being indoctrinated in the gay lifestyle.

      • Amren

        Pat and Min. Thomas,
I am a teacher and I am OUTRAGED when I hear about schools doing the things you've described! Thank GOD that you sound like involved parents. There are many, many teachers out there that are trying to undo all the PC garbage that has INVADED our schools. The problem is this: If we speak up too loudly, we can be fired. BUT! If parents organise themselves and march into a school board meeting and MAKE themselves heard, trust me, things will be changed.
Too long parents have sat by and let "teachers" indoctrinate their children without question. NOW, things have been allowed to go on for so long, it has become "normal". Only the parents can make things change. Parents NEED to start PARENTING!!! Get off of Facebook, get off your butt, get into the kitchen and cook a meal for the FAMILY and MAKE YOUR CHILDREN TELL YOU WHAT THEY LEARNED IN SCHOOL! You may be shocked enough to actually do something.
We teachers always know which child's parent are involved in their lives. It makes a difference.
Ok, rant is over. Now, get to work changing the world.

        • http://www.divinenewsnetwork.com Min. Thomas Allen

Amen… Least there are still some normal teachers out there… The ones we deal with get annoyed when my wife asks questions. They do not like communicating with us and make things very difficult. God Bless…

      • Evermyrtle

What a wonderful idea.! This is the only way Christians can be assured that their children get a proper anti-evil education. They are being taught and forced into things that no Christian wants their children to learn.

    • msjallen

You are right. The public schools can't teach because there is so much disturbance in the classroom. Administrators cannot use corporal punishment at school and neither can parents at home. Poor little mis-behaved kids that think the world owes them a living and allow them to do as they please. Why? Because parents have allowed it and are allowing the anti-Christ, anti-America and anti-morality educators to make our country a soci-a-listic failure.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old (mature), he will not depart from it.
Hebrews 12:7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
Prov 13:24 He who withholds his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently.

  • nctar

"“I do believe common sense tells you, ‘Hey this may not be appropriate for a k through 8 school,". Personally, I don't think the things the children are being taught in school today are appropriate either.

    • Chris

Especially religious schools where they are taught completely bogus religions.

    • Taquoshi

NCTAR – the nasty part is what the assignment was about…

A spokesperson with the Fresno Unified District released a statement, which said: "Students at Hamilton were assigned to create a help wanted poster for soldiers needed to fight in the crusades and write a poem about Joan of arc, the Black Death, or the Magna Carta and create a visual background for it. This was one of several posters displayed."

Writing a poem about the Black Death? Okay, we already have Ring Around the Rosie. Uh, why do we need more poems on that epidemic? Eighth graders are what – 13 or 14? Okay, while they probably grew up with The Terminator, I'm not sure that I'd want my child doing an assignment like that. And what about the younger kids in school?

    • prodigal48

I agree. There is very little going on in the public schools today that is appropriate for children.

  • edcrandall

The liberals never complain when something makes Christians look bad. Had this been an encouragment to Christians it would never have made it to past the teachers desk.(most likely)

    • Chris

      Does the truth hurt?

      • edcrandall

Only when we don't want to see it and it hits us in the face anyway. (you are feeling the pain, aren't you? It has hit you many times but you keep returning for more.)

        • http://www.faithfreaks.com/Wolverine Wolf-Spider

Chris is a religious masochist, who can't comprehend ANYTHING religious. I'm willing to bet a simple "Thank You" prayer, to him…(her?), is the highest of atrocities.

          Wolf-Spider

  • Byron

If I saw that drawing my self, I would have reported it in. I can see the drawing but the words below that, is to be very highly questioned.

  • A. Reginald

Agree with Buck. Jesus never told any of His followers to kill anyone, while Islam commands it. But it is modus operandi for the Government run schools to think up ways to mock Jesus and His followers/disciples! The man(?) in the Whitehouse is the greatest mocker – especially when he calls himself a Christian!

    • Mark Jr.

The Jesus according to Islam is different though…keep that in mind.

  • Jack

It was against Christianity so it is o k, but if were againstany other religion it would be taken down. the real question is this not a hate crime being taught to children in a public school. How do you people put up with this? Make them take it down or keep your kids out of school. This is not what we should be teaching any child.

  • Marilyn Smith

No picture or flyer should be allowed in any public place promoting the killing of people. Even the Post Office flyers just say "Wanted" not "track down and kill." Why would a child do this unless prompted by an adult and who was the total idiot who put it there? Overcomers: It's the world we now live in. Satan is attacking us through our children who have not been taught the truth. Better get our priorities in order. These children will soon grow up and be in charge of the world. Why have we not done our job–mothers and dads?–churches?–pastors? It is in the "Command Book"..Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel…"

    • Amren

      Thank you, Marilyn!!!
As a teacher (Bible beliving, Christian, conservative, Constitutionalist), I keep asking the same questions: Where are the Dads? (No offense to Moms. I was raised by one!) Why aren't parents parenting? And, "Am I the only one noticing how fast we're sliding into the abyss?"
Thankfully, I can see by the comments here, I'm not the only one who's noticed.
Parents, please take your control back. Turn the dang television off, turn the video games off, sit together and eat a meal, and find out what is really going on in your kid's lives.
We actual teachers would appreciate it and the Liberal Indoctrinators will be driven crazy.

      • wesley

the real Great Commission is Go into all the world, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

  • Sgt. York

How would this be treated if at the bottom of the drawing it would of said "Kill All The Muslims".

  • Pazuzu

It's about time government schooling/indoctrination comes to a screeching halt. NO more Department of Education. Most all ills that erode the moral center of our nation are a direct result of having a moslem in the White House. I hope people will vote a little more intelligently this November.

    • Chris

You don't seem too intelligent – believing that the president is a Muslim. Please don't vote.

      • wesley

Obama admits his father was a Muslim which makes him a Muslim by Islamic law. he says the Islamic call to prayer is the most beautiful sound in the world. he can recite it in perfect Arabic. he went to an Islamic school in Indonesia. he has a Muslim middle name. one of his daughters has a Muslim name. he goes out of the way to make Islam look good. I rest my case.

        • Linda F.

Wesley: Like Jeff Dixon, there is no point in attempting to reason with Chris. He just posts whatever thought comes into that hate-filled, small mind of his. You can't reason with people like him and Jeff.

        • guest

          "AMEN!!!!"

  • Bree

I so agree with all of you especially you Minister Allen. If it were a picture of Mohammed and one complaint was made against it, every muslim known to that school would be calling the ACLU and lawsuits would on the nightly news. Since it is a mockery of Christ, nothing will be done. I think I would go to that school and tear it off the wall regardless of the outcome. We are Christians and we need to act against this ungodly persecution. Just one more reason to homeschool!

  • DavidE

You thin skined cry babies, GET OVER IT!!! The muslims can tie up traffic in the middle of New York City with their prayer rugs or anything else they want to do. I guess our representatives are afraid to take action for fear of being decapitated. If we do not stand up against them NOW, we never will. Let us see if they would tolerate Christians doing that in Bagdad or somewhere and see if they would stand up against us. We all know what would happen and Obama would have a news blackout.

  • Dale W.

Obviously from child or at best one unfamiliar with the Scripture that drew the picture and hung it there. For a mature Christian would have written the caption "THOU SHALL NOT KILL" as Jesus said in Matthew 5:21. However the Bible also says in Exodus 20:4
    King James Version (KJV)
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Now that they would not have allowed for sure.

    • http://rationalresponses.blogspot.com/ Jeff Dixon

Come Judgment Day, the your Lord will be killing people in great numbers. He will create horse-like locusts will human heads, women's hair, lion's teeth and scorpion's tails which will sting and inflict savage pain on sinners for five months (Revelation 9:7-10). As a result of the fires, plagues and beasts He inspires, the world will be covered in unburied dead bodies, rotting everywhere, while good Christians, like those at Landover, will "rejoice over them and make merry, and shall send gifts to one another" (Revelation 11:5-10). Meanwhile, the smoke of the burning, rotting bodies will ascend and plague the Earth forever (Revelation 14:10-11). And the smell will attract scavenger birds who will feast upon "the supper of the great God" (Revelation 19:17-18).

He will send an earthquake to kill 7,000 people (Revelation 11:13). And to add just a bit more drama, He will exercise his wrath by inflicting bodily sores, turning the seas and rivers to blood, scorching everyone with fire, causing people to consume their own tongues in pain, and causing horrendous storms which will strike dead the now speechless (though sated) sinners (Revelation 16:1-21).

      • wesley

it looks like jeff has been reading the Left Behind Series which is pure science fiction written by a self appointed "prophecy expert". you would be better off reading the Last Disciple Series for it take Revelation and puts it in its historical time context. it will help you better understand Revelation.

        • http://rationalresponses.blogspot.com/ Jeff Dixon

No, those books are enjoyed by the religious wackos of the world.

        • Linda F.

Wesley, don't bother trying to reason with Jeff and his ilk. In fact, don't waste your time in responding to him.

    • Chris

The scriptures advocate all sorts of horrible crimes – this poster is pretty tame by comparison.

    • Linda F.

Jesus also said that we should love our enemies, pray for them, and be good to them.

  • msjallen

This proves that MOST people in our country do NOT know what the Bible says because they don't read it or do they hear it taught because they don't expose themselves to it. This is why 0 can get by with all the evil he condons in our government and the Congress and Senate do nothing because they go along with it except for a very few.
I John 5:19-20 We know that we are of God and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

  • American Nurse

It amazes me that they call Islam a religion and Mormonism a cult. Islam is not a religion…it is a CULT!. What true God-loving, God-honoring religion promises you sex with virgins if you kill everyone who disagrees with you? What true God-honoring religion would tell you that it is acceptable to lie to advance your cause? Islam is not a religion and it should not be treated as such!

    • http://rationalresponses.blogspot.com/ Jeff Dixon

The god of the bible instructs his followers to do the same thing. Kill unbelievers and rape the women.

      Deuteronomy 20:13-16
      New International Version (NIV)
13 When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14 As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the Lord your God gives you from your enemies. 15 This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nations nearby.

16 However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes.

      • Amren

Wow, sorry there, Jeff. That was a ONE TIME order from God. It does not use the language of the Quran, which says to go on killing the infidels.
Everything that Jesus taught in the New Testament supercedes the old commandments. When He died on the Cross He said, "It is finished." Which meant that the Law had been fulfilled with His suffering and death.
Nice try Scripture twisting, though. I mean, if you want to take passages out of context to make you point, maybe you should go back and actually study what the Bible says, not just jump in here and try to defend a text that actually tells its followers to continue in the killing of the "Infidels".

  • JojoJpclarksville

I don't see "Jesus" written under the drawing. Just because the man depicted has long dark hair and a beard doesn't mean he's Jesus…but it sounds like the school staff wants it to be….to me, it looks like a Muslim recruiting poster drawn by a child.

    • Bree

After really looking at this well, I think you are corrrect. It isn't a picture of Jesus (real one) or false Jesus, but it looks more like an Islamist and could be like that type of recruiting poster. But drawn by a child might be suspect too so whoever drew it is already muslim indoctrinated. It has no place in American public schools to influence our children.

    • wesley

no matter who the man is it still does not belong in school.

  • Evermyrtle

People need to understand the the Muslim Islams have a Jesus, too. One to mock our Jesus, one who did not die on a cross, one who did not rise again, one to go out into the world in an attempt to discredit, OUR JESUS, TO KILL ALL WHO BELIEVE IN HIM. we should get ready to face and to put down, and make known ttat this is an atrocity.,

  • Wayne

I am always amazed at the ignorance of people who wish to propel the myth that the crusades was a time of unimaginable slaughter of innocents. In truth there were an estimated 3,000 deaths due to the inquisition during the crusades. Compare that to any atheistic regime such as Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, or modern Muslims and all of their multiple millions slaughtered. Now the child was not taught too well, because (s)he suggests killing all the infidels and uses Jesus as the speaker in the drawing. And where do you suppose the child got the idea which reflects an absolute lack of truth? So if a child drew up a more likely poster of Obama saying "Kill all the White Cracker Christians" would they allow that to be on display as well?

    • http://rationalresponses.blogspot.com/ Jeff Dixon

Hitler was not an Atheist. He was a Catholic which is part of Christianity.

      • Wayne

You are absolutely misled if you believe Hitler was a Catholic, or a Christian. He was in fact trying to undermine the Catholic Church to bring in a National Religion which would benefit the Nazi party. It is well documented that his intent was to do that. His intent was to get rid of the cross at the pulpit and replace it with the Nazi insignia, to replace the books of the bible with rewritten forms to lead all to Nazi Doctrine. Try reading the book Bonhoeffer for an accurate account with many letters written by contemporaries of Hitler who described his evil actions and his disdain for the Catholic Church. It was his desire to keep it in place as a useful tool that would eventually become so perverted from its original truth it would be nothing more than a Nazi propaganda tool appearing to be a National Religion. Hitler being a catholic is another myth that needs to be dispelled.

        • http://rationalresponses.blogspot.com/ Jeff Dixon

The Catholic Church never ex-communicated Hitler for any of his actions. In fact, they sent him birthday greetings every year during the war. It has been noted that Hitler had minor disagreements with the Catholic church in Germany (but not with the church in Rome, with which he signed a Concordat in 1933, and which ordered the German church to fall in line), If the Catholic Church considered him a Catholic in good standing, it is amusing to hear others try to argue he was not one.

        • wesley

it looks like no matter what you say jeff here still will not believe. he believes the "Catholic Conspiracies". my question is what was taught about the crusade and why they were taught about them in the first place in an Elementary school for starters. the crusades for starters was a really dark time in world history and many Christians were mislead. this belongs in upper level high school were the students are more mature and can clearly understand them.

  • Betz

People sure do jump to a lot of conclusions without really knowing the facts. I think we can all agree on one thing…whatever the story is, putting up posters like that aren't promoting the public good and certainly don't belong on public school walls.

  • dragon65

along as it has nothing to say about god, jesus, or the holy ghost it's fine to print and say anything thats not contary to their way of thinking it's fine.but buying a ticket to heaven means death to peoplev very inaproipate fo a child whatare they teaching in their schools ???

  • GuyMacher

If the text said "Jesus loves you" that picture would have been out of sight immediately. Are we sure this is a picture of Jesus? The text "Kill all infidels" is definitely Islamic.

  • maliktous

haha, the only 'infidels' are the ones committing murders and acts of war in the name of their excuses for religion. They should try a new ritual – 'seppuku'.

  • Richard Colonel

Tell that to the mormon church and you will have the open war between the Muslim and the Mormon church and it affiliates in less than 30 minutes.

  • Michael Payne

Reforming the government schools is not the answer. If you want a public school, rather than the God given blessing to teach your own children, then band together with your friends and hire a teacher that works for you; but, don't try to reform a religious institution built on falty foundations. It does little good for God fearing Christians to pray before they give humanist instruction void of God. http://www.exodusmandate.org/

"Students at Hamilton were assigned to create a help wanted poster for soldiers needed to fight in the crusades and write a poem about Joan of arc, the Black Death, or the Magna Carta and create a visual background for it. This was one of several posters displayed."

Another stupid assignment with highly questionable educational value, courtesy of our government-run, liberal-approved public schools. What do they expect when they fill children's minds with this negative, mindless drivel, designed to subtly paint Christianity in a negative light? Not to mention, where in the child's picture does it say that it represents Jesus? Sound more like something straight out of the Koran.

  • SemperFi1976

This is the Muslim "jesus", not the Christian LORD and Savior, Jesus.
This is how Islam portrays their version of their "jesus" in the un-holy koran.

  • DanMK

Shows the under educated school system, and should be an embarrassment to them.
Maybe if a kid put up a Pres.Obama is a Kenyan picture that would rattle their brains into action

  • Guest

I think it's absurd to post any picture/drawing which tells children that it's okay to 'kill' any human being!! That's the problem today….people have no respect for life…at any point.

  • Don L

If this drawing were of Mohammad (which it may be) it would be in harmony with the teachings of Islam.
If this drawing were of Jesus it is not in harmony with the teachings of Jesus.
Christians are not to kill the infidels but to proclaim the Good News that Jesus is the savior (which Mohammad is not) and they do not have to try and hope to get to heaven if they trust in Jesus getting to heaven is a sure thing because Jesus already did the work to save. His death paid for all the sins of all people. All we have to do is decide to depend on Jesus and what He did rather than on our own religion or works.
Obviously this child has been seriously misled. This is truly child abuse at its worst.

I wonder. Is anyone here interested in praying for revival? Praying, seriously, that God will save MANY souls?

We see evil all around us. We see the ridicule and rejection of Christ and anyone who follows Him. And we think 'certainly this must be the end'. Maybe even we look forward to it (even hoping to see "them" get "what's coming to them"?). But, honestly, it has always been this way. And God, now as before, is still "not wishing that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentence" [2 Pet 3:9].

Can we say the same? Do we REALLY want ALL to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and be saved?

If you can say "YES" to this, drop me an e-mail at paulgerardi at yahoo dot com. I want to pray, earnestly, with believers who feel the same, that we will yet see a great revival here in the United States (other countries as well, but my heart is currently burdened for my country).

    Thanks!

I prefer Junior's version of "Meet Me in Jerusalem."

Why do some want to drag President Obama into this discussion? For a man who wants to help the poor (as Christ did), he sure gets a lot of undeserved hatred. What's up with that?

Christ didn't rob the rich to feed the poor. He turned a few loaves and fishes into an abundance so that there was more left over after the crowd was fed than there was before he started. Christ healed the sick, blind and lame and it didn't cost anyone anything, like Obamacare will.
Obama claimed he was going to stop the seas from rising and keep global warming from being a bother to us, but he can't fix the economy that went south after the democrats (including him) took control of the house and senate. The unemployment rate dropped to below 5% and tax revenues were rising because of the tax cuts by Bush. But, then the democrats took control of the purse strings. It's been downhill since. Poverty up, public debt up, unemployment up, foreclosures up, etc., etc., etc!
