Abortion law temporarily blocked in Mississippi

A federal judge on Sunday temporarily blocked enforcement of a Mississippi law that could shut down the only abortion clinic in the state.

U.S. District Judge Daniel P. Jordan in Jackson issued a temporary restraining order the day the new law took effect.

He set a July 11 hearing to determine whether to block the law for a longer time.

"Though the debate over abortion continues, there exists legal precedent the court must follow," Jordan wrote.

The law requires anyone performing abortions at the state's only clinic to be an OB-GYN with privileges to admit patients to a local hospital. Such privileges can be difficult to obtain, and the clinic contends the mandate is designed to put it out of business. A clinic spokeswoman, Betty Thompson, has said the two physicians who do abortions there are OB-GYNs who travel from other states.

The law sounds legitimate to me. It sounds reasonable, if you believe in abortion. It should be difficult and not like buying a hot pretzel on the corner. The more we can reign in the availibility, the harder we make it, then perhaps it will eventually become a thing of the past. There's certainly no hope of getting a supreme court decision against it. Maybe if it goes before Justice Roberts, he could re-write the thing, possibley put a convoluted spin on it, and cause the world some greif! He's shown that he can do that.

Plainly you don't believe in abortion, though, so why are you pretending to be able to speak for those who do?

This is big. If it stands, other states could pass similar laws. Why shouldn't abortion be subject to the same safety standards as every other medical procedure? Requiring a licensed GYN with hospital privileges is not an extreme expectation when one is having a minor surgical procedure.

Safety for whom, the baby or the the one who is killing the baby. I vote for the baby to be protected!!!

Why are they protesting? It is because they fear the loss of a great deal of money if they had to obey this law. Perchance it could even put them out of business.

GOD'S people must remember the following words spoken by our SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST Matt. 24:21-22

21.For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

    22. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

This is when JESUS CHRIST RETURNS FOR HIS PEOPLE, WE NEED TO GET READY. This is one event that without a shadow of doubt will occur.
