Huckabee vs. Henson

The comments about same-sex marriage made by Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy a week ago continue to generate controversy this week, with politicians and fantasy creatures, well at least their handlers, weighing in.

"Guilty as charged," Cathy was quoted as saying in the Baptist Press last week when asked about his company's support of the traditional family unit as opposed to same-sex marriage.

"We are very much supportive of the family – the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business," Cathy was quoted as saying.

That stance didn't go over well with the Jim Henson Co., whose Jim Henson's Creature Shop toys have been served up in Chick-fil-A's meals for kids. Jim Henson Co. is named after the creator of the Muppets, though the company transferred the Muppets' rights and ownership to the Walt Disney Co. in 2003, according to Jim Henson Co.

    Christians will not change, we will go by GOD'S WORD and ignore public opinion. We know to go along with "Public opinion" we will so often be going along with Satan's will for us.

    Going by public oppinion is turnign this nation to an anti-CHRIST anti-GOD country. After about 500 years we are shoving HIM out of the door, thinking we can manage without HIM. IT WON'T WORK. WE WILL HEAR FROM SOONER OR LATER IN A GREAT WAY.

    It's time or overtime to either stand up for family values or cave to the lust of man! So far our society has allowed the loud, bigoted people to take charge. It isn't easy being Christian, and because you are a Christian you don't have to be silent nor placid!

    It's a sad day in America when you can be vilified and boycotted simply because you believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Yet you are applauded if you believe that men should have sex with men or women with women, and also believe that such a perverse arrangement should be labeled as 'marriage'. Homosexuals expect Christians to tolerate their practices while they are completely intolerable to Christian's views.

      Christians tolerate many activities that are fobidden in the bible. Banking, babers, tailors, and women wearing mens clothes for example. Yet it is the gays that drive Christians bonkers insisting that that gods laws MUST be followed. Do you have a car or home loan, Key? Why, since that is an abomination to your lord? Stop being a hypocrite.

        Banking is forbidden? Jesus didn't think so. In the parable of the talents, Jesus commended the two servants who invested the money the lord of the servants had given them to, but the servant who hid his share in the ground and did not invest it was condemned (Matthew 25:15-30).

        Why would tailors or barbers (I assume that's what you meant) be prohibited by the Bible? You'll have to explain that one further. As for women wearing men's clothes or vice versa, I would say you have Biblical justification on that one:

        "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God."
        Deuteronomy 22:5

        Not sure why this would be a problem today. I definitely would not look good in a dress :-) Personally, I do not have any car loan or mortgage, as my car and house are fully paid, but I do not see why that would be an issue unless the amount of the debt exceeded the borrower's ability to repay. In that case, it might be an issue contrary to the Bible.

        That's because they've made it very clear that we cannot coexist. It is either our way or their way. I'm not forgetting all the laws passed that force our children to learn their ways. Can't do that with the Christian way of life in the public schools or businesses anymore, can we? Even IF we are the majority. Nope. It's the minority that is allowed free speech and reign. Of COURSE we're going to fight that. For someone who seems to be for the rights of all, you certainly aren't, are you? Seems a hypocritical stance for someone who's accusing others of being hypocritical.

    Wow, does "Jim Henson Co." really think that I care what they think as opposed to what god says? They put themselves in a mighty high position. What they do not understand is that God is not mocked, nor will I or any other Christ Follower put the world or "Jim Henson Co." before God. I think they would do well to stop and humble themselves before the Lord.

    Well good. Now we don't have to worry about these "fruties" bring their boy friends or girl friends to sit in front of my children on family eat out day. I would not care if every gay or frutie boycotted every establishment on the face of the earth. Go back to the closet where you belong, and lock the door.
