Is Christianity now un-American?

The current hate campaign being waged by homosexual activists against fast-food chain Chick-fil-A, because of the firm's Christian values, may well turn out to be a bridge too far. The effort may prove to be a setback for homosexual activism.

The vile attacks on the firm and its owners, the Cathy family, should make clear, finally, that the "gay rights" movement is not about refining and advancing American freedom. It is about rewriting American values and advancing not freedom, but the homosexual political agenda.

Recently, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke at a flag raising ceremony in Alexandria, Egypt, noting the reopening of the American consulate there. Given the current political climate in Egypt, the secretary of state felt behooved in her remarks to highlight principles of freedom as understood by Americans.

"… to us, real democracy means that every citizen has the right to live, work and worship as they choose, whether they are man or woman, Muslim or Christian, or from any other background."

Perhaps, Secretary Clinton should be lecturing Americans instead of Egyptians.

No "Christianity" is not un-American but giving money to hate groups and marginalizing a segment of the population based on a made up religion IS.

    • Evermyrtle

It takes hating people to make up hate groups. Hate people must be the most miserable in the world. Because they are not happy, they pour their hate out on all who will listen.

      • Jeff Dixon

You are right, Christians continue to hate so many different groups.

        • Mary Wood

Is hate too strong a word? Can't an individual have convictions without being accused of hate. What am I missing here, Jeff?

          • Jeff Dixon

Sure they can. However, when the attacks on differing groups take on the viciousness that Christians employ, hatred is the accurate description.

          • Mary Wood

I do see what you mean but I don't see such viciousness here in the entire population. It's more complicated than that. It seems you are saying "all Christians." in the phrase "that Christians employ"

I mean, the word Christians by itself seems to mean all Christians.. we have to be careful to not be misunderstood. I know I am the worst at being clear : )

          • Jeff Dixon

Saying that Christians do act in inappropriate ways does not mean every Christian does, any more than saying that politicians act in inappropriate ways does not imply every politician.

When secularists ask for Christians to take care of their religion's extremists and try to police their members, the ages-old cop-out is nearly always employed: "Oh but they're not TRUE Christians!" Thus the problem is relegated to "It's not our fault because it's not our problem."
The problem is that Christianity is fractured into thousands of brands, each of them ranging from the positive side of the spectrum to the most evil side of the spectrum. Every fraction pretends every other fraction aren't "TRUE Christians." Thus Christians don't see the need to police groups because they refuse to acknowledge it is their responsibility.

          • Mary Wood

lol You are so right about the diversity within.
Please … well, let me specify something here, regarding all versus some:
It's the French … in that language every thing is quantified
for example, the French wouldn't ask"
            Do you want wine?
            They would say
            Do you want some wine?
See why I get in trouble … its b/c my parents, who were French, spoke broken English to me for years? I have an excuse for everything. : )

          • Jeff Dixon

What happened to the wine example? Much more appropriate for the French.

          • Mary Wood

            How's that? : )

          • Jeff Dixon

wine and the French? It is like americans and hamburgers.

          • Mary Wood

with a tiny bit of California wine?

          • Mary Wood

I do not think that some Christians ever have time to read-up on what any evil brands of Christianity are doing… some of us are so well protected in our little cocoons from such bad news. And it is shocking to hear.

          • Glen S

Really, so one can conclude that the about of time you spend shouting at the wind on this site and the viciousness with which you shout is hatred.

I'm glad we got that out in the open.

By the way, why do you waste your time and ours?

          • Jeff Dixon

If you believe that voicing an opinion on a message board is being vicious, you truly are delusional.

Real viciousness are the new stories of domestic Christian terrorists murdering abortion providers, blowing up business, or assaulting women. One Christian terrorist organization even went so far as to plant two bombs timed apart for the specific purpose of killing rescue workers working to aid the victims of the first.

          • Glen S

Ah! So, now we have the great Dixon admitting that his is only an opinion. It is when you begin to through around words like "delusional" that you descend into vitriol and are guilty of that which you accuse others.

          • Jeff Dixon

Of course my comments are my opinions. I have never claimed otherwise.

However, my opinions are supported by facts.

          • Annie

            Imaginations from a deluded mind.

          • Mary Wood

Makes me wonder if you have ever debated Jeff. Unlikely, I surmise from the comments you have made.

          • Glen S

I am not interested in debating or even discussing with Jeff. He like many others are very closed minded, easily digresses into the same vitriolic language of which he accuses others, and uses facts to justify conclusions he has already drawn rather than following those facts where they lead.

          • Mary Wood

I don't deny he does have a predisposition, but don't we all? Besides that, Jeff is a good American, not someone who thinks of himself as "great," who is concerned for the health of his country in the face of coming conflicts, as we all are. I wouldn't discount all of what he throws at you. You might learn something good you didn't know. That is the way I look at life, opportunities to learn something. And surely you must be exaggerating that you think he should cease commenting. I hope he continues. My greatest fear is malaise I see all around me in the South, I find it disheartening that so many people will go like lambs to the slaughter. I don't want these kinds of folks making decisions for the future of my children, do you? And don't think that is a moot question. I am from the deep South.

          • Mary Wood

Where did the Christians allegedly plant two bombs, Jeff?

          • Mary Wood

Glen: Please stop being judgmental about Jeffrey Dixon. I am listening to him and also, to others who debate him. So no, Jeff is not shouting at the wind. You didn't get anything of the sort out in the open unless it is your contentious nature. He is wasting no one's time, for goodness sake! What are you taking about? Have you read the purpose of this forum? Jeff brings truth to light from his particular point of view same as everyone else.

          • Evermyrtle

Christians do not attack, we offer JESUS AS SAVIOR to you and the hate just flows from your hearts toward us, because of this offer. All you have to do is BELIEVE, we are not pushing we are offering to share HIM with you.

          • Mary Wood

Myrtle said :" …we are not pushing…" Jeff's right Myrtle: some do push viciously. Jeff's not talking about you.

        • Evermyrtle

What we hate is that you and all unbelievers are lost until you accept JESUS CHRIST AS SAVIOR. Really we as Christians, love you and want you to be saved. That is our aim in life, to win every person possible to JESUS.

          • Jeff Dixon

Accepting a myth as reality is to be completely lost to reason and rational thought.

    • http://www.answersingenesis.org/ keyboardshark

And just what exactly are these "hate groups" and "made up religions", Chris P? The only hate groups I can think of are those that are attempting to force a radical homosexual agenda on the population, regardless of whether they agree or not, and slandering and vilifying all who disagree. .

      • Jeff Dixon

Well, all religions are made up. But hate groups are more difficult to define.

        • http://www.answersingenesis.org/ keyboardshark

All religions are indeed made up, but that is because they are mere counterfeits of the truth. All religions say, "Follow our doctrines, this is the way to God" but Christ turns that on its head and says " I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

          • Jeff Dixon

            So did Horus:
Horus was the lamb of God who took away the sins of the world.
He also had titles such as the "way, the truth, the light, the Messiah, God's anointed Son, the Son of Man, the good shepherd, the lamb of God, the Word, the Morning Star, the light of the world.
            So did Buddha:
Buddha was considered the "good shepherd, the "carpenter, the "infinite and everlasting." Buddha was called the "savior of the world, "light of the world," Supreme Being, and the eternal one.Buddha is to return to Earth again to restore the world to order and happiness.

          • http://www.answersingenesis.org/ keyboardshark

Yep, Horus was just like Jesus. His conception and birth are exactly alike:

"Horus was born to the goddess Isis after she retrieved all the dismembered body parts of her murdered husband Osiris, except his penis which was thrown into the Nile and eaten by a catfish,[6][7]and used her magic powers to resurrect Osiris and fashion a gold phallus[8] to conceive her son"

Horus's life, attributes and ministry was just like that of Jesus too:

"Since Horus was said to be the sky, he was considered to also contain the sun and moon. It became said that the sun was his right eye and the moon his left, and that they traversed the sky when he, a falcon, flew across it. Later, the reason that the moon was not as bright as the sun was explained by a tale, known as the contestings of Horus and Set, originating as a metaphor for the conquest of Upper Egypt by Lower Egypt in about 3000 BC. In this tale, it was said that Set, the patron of Upper Egypt, and Horus, the patron of Lower Egypt, had battled for Egypt brutally, with neither side victorious, until eventually the gods sided with Horus (see below).
As Horus was the ultimate victor he became known as Harsiesis, Heru-ur or Har-Wer (ḥr.w wr 'Horus the Great'), but more usually translated as Horus the Elder. In the struggle Set had lost a testicle, explaining why the desert, which Set represented, is infertile. Horus' left eye had also been gouged out, then a new eye was created by part of Khonsu, the moon god, and was replaced.
Horus was occasionally shown in art as a naked boy with a finger in his mouth sitting on a lotus with his mother. In the form of a youth, Horus was referred to as Neferhor.
Horus was also said to be a god of war and hunting. The Horus falcon is shown upon a standard on the predynastic Hunters Palette in the "lion hunt".Thus he became a symbol of majesty and power as well as the model of the pharaohs. The Pharaohs were said to be Horus in human form.Furthermore Nemty, another war god, was later identified as Horus.[15]
            "
            But wait, there's more….
"According to Papyrus Chester-Beatty I, Set is depicted as trying to prove his dominance by seducing Horus and then having intercourse with him. However, Horus places his hand between his thighs and catches Set's semen, then subsequently throws it in the river, so that he may not be said to have been inseminated by Set. Horus then deliberately spreads his own semen on some lettuce, which was Set's favorite food. After Set had eaten the lettuce, they went to the gods to try to settle the argument over the rule of Egypt. The gods first listened to Set's claim of dominance over Horus, and call his semen forth, but it answered from the river, invalidating his claim. Then, the gods listened to Horus' claim of having dominated Set, and call his semen forth, and it answered from inside Set.[19][20]However, Set still refused to relent, and the other gods were getting tired from over eighty years of fighting and challenges. Horus and Set challenged each other to a boat race, where they each raced in a boat made of stone. Horus and Set agreed, and the race started. But Horus had an edge: his boat was made of wood painted to resemble stone, rather than true stone. Set's boat, being made of heavy stone, sank, but Horus's did not. Horus then won the race, and Set stepped down and officially gave Horus the throne of Egypt.[18] But after the New Kingdom, Set still was considered Lord of the desert and its oases.[21]"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horus

Yessiree, we can be sure that the Bible's account of Jesus was stolen directly from the mythological deity Horus.
Buddah? Yep, he too was just like Jesus:
"Legend has it that, on the night Siddhartha (Buddah) was conceived, Queen Maya dreamt that a white elephant with six white tusks entered her right side,[30] and ten months later Siddhartha was born. During the birth celebrations, the hermit seer Asita journeyed from his mountain abode and announced that the child would either become a great king (chakravartin) or a great holy man.[32] By traditional account,[which?] this occurred after Siddhartha placed his feet in Asita's hair and Asita examined the birthmarks. Suddhodana held a naming ceremony on the fifth day, and invited eight brahmin scholars to read the future. All gave a dual prediction that the baby would either become a great king or a great holy man.[32] Kaundinya (Pali: Kondañña), the youngest, and later to be the first arahant other than the Buddha, was reputed to be the only one who unequivocally predicted that Siddhartha would become a Buddha.[33]
At the age of 29, the popular biography continues, Siddhartha left his palace to meet his subjects. Despite his father's efforts to hide from him the sick, aged and suffering, Siddhartha was said to have seen an old man. When his charioteer Channa explained to him that all people grew old, the prince went on further trips beyond the palace. On these he encountered a diseased man, a decaying corpse, and an ascetic. These depressed him, and he initially strove to overcome ageing, sickness, and death by living the life of an ascetic.[40]Accompanied by Channa and aboard his horse Kanthaka, Gautama quit his palace for the life of amendicant. It's said that, "the horse's hooves were muffled by the gods"[41] to prevent guards from knowing of his departure.Gautama initially went to Rajagaha and began his ascetic life by begging for alms in the street. After King Bimbisara's men recognised Siddhartha and the king learned of his quest, Bimisara offered Siddhartha the throne. Siddhartha rejected the offer, but promised to visit his kingdom of Magadha first, upon attaining enlightenment.
According to the early Buddhist texts,[43] after realizing that meditative jhana was the right path to awakening, but that extreme asceticism didn't work, Gautama discovered what Buddhists call the Middle Way[43]—a path of moderation away from the extremes of self-indulgence and self-mortification.[43]In a famous incident, after becoming starved and weakened, he is said to have accepted milk and rice pudding from a village girl named Sujata.[44] Such was his emaciated appearance that she wrongly believed him to be a spirit that had granted her a wish.[44]Following this incident, Gautama was famously seated under a pipal tree—now known as the Bodhi tree—in Bodh Gaya, India, when he vowed never to arise until he had found the truth.[45] Kaundinya and four other companions, believing that he had abandoned his search and become undisciplined, left. After a reputed 49 days of meditation, at the age of 35, he is said to have attained Enlightenment.[45][46] According to some traditions, this occurred in approximately the fifth lunar month, while, according to others, it was in the twelfth month. From that time, Gautama was known to his followers as theBuddha or "Awakened One" ("Buddha" is also sometimes translated as "The Enlightened One"). He is often referred to in Buddhism as Shakyamuni Buddha, or "The Awakened One of the Shakya Clan."
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddah

Yep, once again, we can see that the Bible has obviously copycatted from another ancient religion to write the account concerning Jesus. Not.

          • Jeff Dixon

Where did I say they were identical? I said that Horus and Buddha both also said they were the way , the truth or the savior of the world. You claimed only Jesus made these claims vs other religions.

          • http://www.answersingenesis.org/ keyboardshark

I did not find any such claims in the Wikipedia article. The closest statement was that Horus the elder was called the son of truth, which is not the same as Jesus because Jesus said that He himself was the truth, not the 'son of truth'. However, I found this in a related article:

"One theory finds similarities between the Egyptian god Horus and Jesus. Writer Gerald Massey argued that the deity of Horus and Jesus shared identical mythological origins in his 1907 book Ancient Egypt, the light of the world.[12] W. Ward Gasque conducted a world-wide poll of twenty Egyptologists to verify if there was any academic support for these claims. The scholars dismissed several of the claimed parallels. One scholar cautioned that "[e]gyptology has the unenviable distinction of being one of those disciplines that almost anyone can lay claim to, and the unfortunate distinction of being probably the one most beleaguered by false prophets."[13] Massey's views have been expanded upon by Toronto Star columnist Tom Harpur, author Acharya S, political comedian Bill Maher, and the British Broadcasting Company.[14][15][16][17]"

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_Christ_in_comparative_mythology

I do not find the claims for Buddah, either. I do see this statement: "Following this incident, Gautama was famously seated under a pipal tree—now known as the Bodhi tree—in Bodh Gaya, India, when he vowed never to arise until he had found the truth."

Jesus did not have to search for the truth, He is the truth.

In short, there are so many differences between Jesus and Horus or Buddah that there is not the slightest possibility that the Bible 'stole' any ideas from them. Sure, anyone can find a few similarities among the vast body of data, but to say that Jesus' claims that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Light are similar to mutterings by other ancient religious/mythological characters or their followers is far-fetched.

          • Jeff Dixon

I did not claim Christianity stole them, merely that the concepts appeared in each of the religions. I also have not ever said that the religions are completely similar or identical. What you continue to try and tie together is that the religions have to be the same or even closely similar in order for the there to be any similarities. That is not necessary at all.

          • http://www.answersingenesis.org/ keyboardshark

While you may find similar claims (although I did not see them in the Wikipedia source) from ancient religions or myths that sound like the claims of Christ, they are not on a par with them when the rest of the information, which includes other outlandish claims by the same religions, is factored in. Jesus is the only one who claims to be the source of life itself, the creator of the universe, the only source of truth, and the redeemer of mankind. Suggesting similarities are merely an attempt to discredit the claims of Christ.

          • Jeff Dixon

Of course they are. They are all unsupported claims.

          • http://www.answersingenesis.org/ keyboardshark

            …Says the atheist.

          • Evermyrtle

Jeff, you really are an intelligent man, but until you accept GOD AND HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST AS SAVIOR, your are lost. Wake up before it is too late.

          • Mary Wood

Myrtle, how can a man be delusional and intelligent at the same time? Within a day you have used both words to describe Mr. Dixon. I can only guess that you are talking about someone else, since I know Jeff also (as you do) and he is a consistent, intelligent person who does not stand down when challenged, which is often, and also, which is commendable.

          • Evermyrtle

There is an old hymn that says,"We will understand it all by and by." That is very true but it will be too late for those who refuse to believe and accept JESUS CHRIST AS SON OF GOD AND YOUR SAVIOR. If you accept HIM before that day, you can be saved.

          • Jeff Dixon

There is nothing to be saved from. The fable of Adam and Eve is just more nonsense.

      • Evermyrtle

Liberal as in our present liberals, bent on throwing GOD and JESUS CHRIST out of America, is the religion of Satan. It is indeed a hate religion.

  • http://www.missiontoisrael.org Ted R. Weiland

When people like Chris P hate the truth, they only see hate when the truth is preached.

    • http://www.answersingenesis.org/ keyboardshark

A simple yet insightful analysis, Ted.

    • Jeff Dixon

That is an interesting comment. What is even a more interesting question is why you consider verses in the bible to be truth, when they can be shown to be false very easily.

      • Evermyrtle

You consider yourself to be intelligent but cannot understand GOD'S WORD does not say a lot about your intelligence. There is not a person living that can prove that any verse in he Bible is not true. The fact is they claim it to be untrue, just because they do not know what it is talking about! Big difference there!!!

        • http://www.facebook.com/jeffrey.dixon.509 Jeffrey Dixon

Myrtle, spouting nonsense does you no good. The bible is full of mistakes and errors.
Well, let us take a look at this bible passage to see what God knows about genetics.

          Genesis 30:37-39

37 Then Jacob took fresh rods of poplar and almond and plane, and peeled white streaks in them, exposing the white of the rods. 38 He set the rods which he had peeled in front of the flocks in the runnels, that is, the watering troughs, where the flocks came to drink. And since they bred when they came to drink, 39 the flocks bred in front of the rods and so the flocks brought forth striped, speckled, and spotted.

To help you understand the verses, let me give you some background information. Laban is taking all of Jacob’s beloved striped and spotted cattle. Jacob ends up with plain-colored cattle, and he is not happy with that at all; Not one bit. So Jacob comes up with a devious plan: he gets some sticks and creates stripes on them. He then sets them next to his cattle. What Jacob thinks is that if he gets his cattle to look at the striped sticks while mating, then they will give birth to striped young. And guess what, it actually works. The cattle give birth to striped young, and Jacob is filled with joy. However, this is not how genetics work. We have known more about genetics since Mendel worked with peas. This is a perfect example of showing that the bible is not the foundation of truth and knowledge that Christians try to claim for it.

Now, I realize some Christians will try to argue that God simply worked a miracle. But why didn't Jacob simply pray for striped cattle? He actually believed his plan would work and did work. Why would God allow him to believe this lie? How did this help mankind understand genetics when it occurred? Perhaps the biblical god prefers uneducated followers. At least the people who wrote the bible seem to think so. History has shown that it is easier to control uneducated people.

      That is completely absurd.

  • Evermyrtle

The homosexual reminds me of the Klu Klux Klan. All a black person had to do t be hated was to be born. All a Christian needs to do to be hated is to accept JESUS CHRIST AS SAVIOR, or just claim to be a Christian, and again the liberals are the haters.

    • http://www.monster-island.net/ kushibo

You have that completely backwards. Until very recently, it ws homosexuals who were loathed and beaten for how they were born. Now that being gay has achieved a level of acceptance, people are turning on those who still hold fast to that hate, and that turns out to be a lot of Bible quoters.

When there is so much greed destroying our society, why is so much venom reserved by supposed followers of Christ for gays?

It is the love of money, not the love of the same sex, that is the root of all kinds of evil.

      • Evermyrtle

Is that why they are spewing out their hate, now?

I do realize that is true but you are punishing the wrong ones. It was not Christians even though they likely professed to be Christian who did it. Those were acts of hate, also, done by adult and children bullies. But it has not been only homosexuals that have been bullied. People who will not fit in with what a group believes have been bullied thousands of them thousands of times. It has occurred in my family, therefore I am not a stranger to it. It won't help, I suppose but you do have have my sympathy knowing that bullying is the coward's way out.

      • David

Interesting but flawed observation. Christians are called to love everyone, however it is also clear that we disapprove of the sin. A man who runs his business and "misses out" on millions of dollars per year by closing all his stores on Sundays does not appear to be driven by the mere "greed" of money as you suggest.

God will, in His time, pass judgment on us all, including those who pass judgment on the earthly sinner. His judgment is perfect and just, while ours is not, no matter which side of the topic one finds oneself.

        • Mary Wood

  • http://twitter.com/BradNova Brad Nova

I think both sides are overreacting on this though of course Christians and gays are entitled to their opinions.

I cannot imagine being treated like a second class citizen in the U.S., it is just wrong. Christians are allowed to think homosexuality is wrong but they do not have the right to make laws against it or to use the government to prevent gays from getting married.

This country is about freedom, not controlling the behavior of it's citizens.

    • Evermyrtle

Neither do the homo lovers have a right to make laws legalizing it.That is exactly what they have done. If you have that right why don't we have that right? You didn't do that? nNo, your illegal president and his cronies did it.

      • http://twitter.com/BradNova Brad Nova

Removing discriminatory laws is not the same as writing new laws. The government should not make any law about who can or cannot get married.

        • fliteking

Do you think it is some kind of 'wish list'?

What if the People make the law Brad, do you feel the same way?

How do you explain the thousands of other laws on the books that express the Peoples opinions?

Brad Nova: My fear is that children will be negatively impacted by other than the kind of upbringing than I had. which was great, I didn't know any different: Five days a week I worked like the dickens going to school and doing all my homework, on Saturdays were spent helping my parents around the house and getting ready for the next week, Sunday was a day of rest observed like it was traditionally meant to be according to our family history to spend it with the family in a place of our choice, and later our house was real quiet and we took long naps at will. Without stability in our home I would never done any of this career thing … so I am not part of the statistics of multiple abortions, many marriages, teenage mother, a food stamper, etc ad nuseum… Now why don't we look at the kinds of problems we have in this country and just stay out of each other's sex lives. It is preposterous that the gay bunch of people constantly have their sex issues in our face and frankly I am losing my patience. I know that whatever problem you have, you ARE NOT CONTRIBUTING to the prospering of a great country that you don't respect, but affords you luxuries never seen before in the hIstory of the world. So Wake UP! TELL YOUR BUDDIES TO KEEP IT TO THEMSELVES. THIS IS RIDICULUS THE LENGTHS TO WHICH YOU HAVE GONE TO PUSH THIS IN OUR FACE.

If we just eliminate laws that prevent gays from getting married then we will never hear from them again.

        • Mary Wood

People are afraid of slippery slopes, Brad. The children: the scouts, the local schools, after school sports… do you get my point. Were it not for the children who are so impressionable, you would get your way in a heartbeat. As it stands now, though, the people to whom you want support would be giving over all they hold precious to recognize the gay community in the manner you wish. Can you put yourself in their place and imagine the reverse. I have seen gays with an immense dislike for straight people. Responsible people in our country who have raised families and built businesses, know that politics will be involved. They know when factions of the gay populations start changing laws of historical and biblical proportions, that is a foot in the door to gain power that is not seen as exactly right. What then? People understand reciprocity but again I come back to the children.

Brad says: "If we just eliminate laws that prevent gays from getting married then we will never hear from them again."

I wouldn't count on it. Initially, homosexual lobbyist groups said, "All we want is to be left alone." Then, a few years later, they said, "We just want our lifestyle to be accepted." Not long after that it was, "We want our lifestyle to be legally recognized as a civil union." And finally it went all the way to, "We want nothing less than marriage," which, since creation, has been defined and accepted as a sacred institution between a man and a woman.

Now, in England at least, they are demanding that churches be 'compelled' to do that which is contrary to their deeply held convictions. And finally, they demand that we teach children to uphold homosexuality as a virtue. We are watching the breathtaking success of homosexual lobbyists as they intimidate well-known evangelical mega-church pastors into apologizing for their former, but now defunct, biblical conviction on the issue.

Lying does not bolster your position.

    • Mary Wood

Ha. We love ya Brad. There is no question that your freedom should be protected. Admit it though… YOU STARTED BY TELLING US ABOUT YOU SEX LIFE… WE DON'T WANT TO KNOW… You infringe on our freedom as much or more … than we infringe upon yours IF AT ALL!!! Think about it. That is the most criticism I have heard of from others about gays. 'just thought you should know.

      "
but they do not have the right to make laws against it or to use the government to prevent gays from getting married."

Demonstrates a liberal with no grasp on how the American legal system works.

Homosexuals are angry with the truth, and take it out on the messengers. Spiting christians for proclaiming the truth of GOD's Word) is like shooting the mailman for delivering their mail!

The desire to redefine marriage, to accommodate their deviance, is ONLY a fallacious attempt to salve their guilty consciences. But changing the definition in civil law will NOT remove their guilt before the Just God. Sinners, who love their sin, are blind to their guilt and will do anything to hide their guilt (this is true irrelevant of whether the sin of choice is lying, murder, theft, sodomy, etc.). …and YES, sodomy is a choice, as God is not the author of sin (ie; homosexuals aren't born that way… though they want to claim so, as the claim of "victimhood" is an avoidance of culpability).

“He that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death” (Prov. 8:36)
May the Lord Jesus Christ open the eyes of all sinners, lest His wrath REMAIN upon us!

This article doesn't address the real issue. The real issue is Obama and his communist minnons. He purposely has re-ignited the Homosexual marraige issue on purpose to have us war against each other because he is using this issue and contraceptives argument to war against the Christians. Remember the Liberals in Congress last year passed the Hate Bill. Not to combat hate crime but to be able to monitor every church or synigogue as Lenin did in Russia. They believe they have to control the "Opium" of the people "Religion". He will use the Homosexual groups the same way Lenin and Hitler did to cause Chaos and control the Churches. Then when they have control they will ban Homosexualality just like Stalin and Hitler did. Because they know society can not exist with a large homosexual society and population.

The question is far too simplistic. The answer is to be found in this question; has America become anti-Christian? If so, with what parameters are the objectionable assaults to be found; islamic terrorism? islamic apathy towards terrorists? the neo-liberal agnostics and atheists? young people who are uneducated? young people who are educated? minority memberships? the democratic party, in general? specific groups or cells of democrats leaning toward communism and/or socialism? the elderly? In the end a careful analysis of the effrontery towards Christianity, and I will include Judaism, should result in the combined efforts of Christians and Jews to unseat the president and his cabinet, his czars, his cronies, his minions, and his puppets. This year's election will be known as the challenge of religion against the democrats.

I think Glenn Beck said it best. "The truth has no agenda, it is simply the truth." Liberals, Progressives, Communists, Atheists, Homosexual activists, can not handle the "truth", it frightens them, so they try to make lies into their own truth, but their truth does have an agenda, and that is how we recognize the lie. The secular/permissive world accuses Christians of being "homophobes" and "Islamophobes", but it is they who are suffering from acute "Christian Conviction Syndrome", I call them "Christophobes", as they are afflicted with "Christophobia" as they are afraid of Christ, and Christians and that causes them to lash out in a manner of someone living in dire fear of conviction by the Holy Spirit.

I just wish Mrs. clinton would practice what she preaches for a change.

  • Mary Wood

One newscaster observed of the August 1st event involving Mr. Cathy that the people involved were not organized, but were reacting at a grass roots levels to demonstrate a deeply felt conviction. This was not a highly organized political event from the top down. So, no the individual acts of support was in fact the most American act permitted by our system of government. It also demonsrates a principle that is held dear, and exclusive of Christianity.

If Christianity is now to be considered "unAmerican" then so must be the writings of our Founding Fathers including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution itself. We all know the Declaration specifically references Creator and God several times as well as ending with the sentence, "And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor."
For those who insist the Constitution does NOT mention God nor reference Christianity in any way I submit the last paragraph of the document itself:
"Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America the Twelfth."
The "our Lord" was in 1787 and still is Our Holy Saviour Jesus Christ. The United States was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and remains as in 1787 a Christian Nation.

    • Jeff Dixon

Nonsense. The year of our lord was merely a way of speaking during that period. If Christianity was part of the Constitution, why is religious freedom allowed? The Christian god certainly did not permit other religions.

      • Evermyrtle

The words Christianity, JESUS CHRIST, THE WORD, GOD, just draws forth vicious hatred from your heart.

America has become unamerican. Atheism, Sin groups, non-Christian groups, ethnic groups, etc., have inserted so many "individual" issues into the American culture, life, and laws that she doesn't look like herself anymore. Abortion is the law of the land, marriage is no longer marriage,, there are women walking around dressed looking like Batman, honor killing cases are more frequent, Crescent Moons decorate our landscape, etc., Christ has become a stranger, she doesn't like her anymore.

  • Aristophanes

Perhaps hillary clinton should put her words into action. With some of the comments she has made, she did not voice her beliefs in Egypt. She is so against Christianity and so for the muslims. She is a danger to America.
