Myrtle, spouting nonsense does you no good. The bible is full of mistakes and errors.
Well, let us take a look at this bible passage to see what God knows about genetics.

Genesis 30:37-39

37 Then Jacob took fresh rods of poplar and almond and plane, and peeled white streaks in them, exposing the white of the rods. 38 He set the rods which he had peeled in front of the flocks in the runnels, that is, the watering troughs, where the flocks came to drink. And since they bred when they came to drink, 39 the flocks bred in front of the rods and so the flocks brought forth striped, speckled, and spotted.

To help you understand the verses, let me give you some background information. Laban is taking all of Jacob’s beloved striped and spotted cattle. Jacob ends up with plain-colored cattle, and he is not happy with that at all; Not one bit. So Jacob comes up with a devious plan: he gets some sticks and creates stripes on them. He then sets them next to his cattle. What Jacob thinks is that if he gets his cattle to look at the striped sticks while mating, then they will give birth to striped young. And guess what, it actually works. The cattle give birth to striped young, and Jacob is filled with joy. However, this is not how genetics work. We have known more about genetics since Mendel worked with peas. This is a perfect example of showing that the bible is not the foundation of truth and knowledge that Christians try to claim for it.

Now, I realize some Christians will try to argue that God simply worked a miracle. But why didn't Jacob simply pray for striped cattle? He actually believed his plan would work and did work. Why would God allow him to believe this lie? How did this help mankind understand genetics when it occurred? Perhaps the biblical god prefers uneducated followers. At least the people who wrote the bible seem to think so. History has shown that it is easier to control uneducated people.

Perhaps hillary clinton should put her words into action. With some of the comments she has made, she did not voice her beliefs in Egypt. She is so against Christianity and so for the muslims. She is a danger to America.

America has become unamerican. Atheism, Sin groups, non-Christian groups, ethnic groups, etc., have inserted so many "individual" issues into the American culture, life, and laws that she doesn't look like herself anymore. Abortion is the law of the land, marriage is no longer marriage,, there are women walking around dressed looking like Batman, honor killing cases are more frequent, Crescent Moons decorate our landscape, etc., Christ has become a stranger, she doesn't like her anymore.

I don't deny he does have a predisposition, but don't we all? Besides that, Jeff is a good American, not someone who thinks of himself as "great," who is concerned for the health of his country in the face of coming conflicts, as we all are. I wouldn't discount all of what he throws at you. You might learn something good you didn't know. That is the way I look at life, opportunities to learn something. And surely you must be exaggerating that you think he should cease commenting. I hope he continues. My greatest fear is malaise I see all around me in the South, I find it disheartening that so many people will go like lambs to the slaughter. I don't want these kinds of folks making decisions for the future of my children, do you? And don't think that is a moot question. I am from the deep South.

I am not interested in debating or even discussing with Jeff. He like many others are very closed minded, easily digresses into the same vitriolic language of which he accuses others, and uses facts to justify conclusions he has already drawn rather than following those facts where they lead.

Myrtle, how can a man be delusional and intelligent at the same time? Within a day you have used both words to describe Mr. Dixon. I can only guess that you are talking about someone else, since I know Jeff also (as you do) and he is a consistent, intelligent person who does not stand down when challenged, which is often, and also, which is commendable.
