		<description><![CDATA[I guess it is subjective as to whether they have less stress than us, but my point was that they do not experience many of the stresses of modern living such as urban crime, being dependent on an employer for your money, etc. Also, I would say it is a real stretch to say that kerosene lanterns are part of the grid. I&#039;ll stick with my original assertion that they are much less dependent on the grid than we are.]]></description>

They also depend on the grid in that they do use kerosine lanterns, some even use motors for their mills.  They do have a strong faith and supportive community.]]></description>

Less stress, much less reliance on modern conveniences, stronger families, more reliance on God to provide, etc. If the power grid goes down for an extended period of time, most of us would be totally lost, but the Amish would just keep plugging away and not panic. ]]></description>
