Churchgoers tired of Alec Baldwin

For most, a Sunday church service is a moment for peace, worship and reflection — unless Alec Baldwin is in your congregation.

Sources tell us that some of the parishioners at Most Holy Trinity Parish in East Hampton are so sick of Baldwin’s blustering that a group stood up and turned their backs on the hot-tempered star as he gave a reading from the pulpit.

A source told us of the protesting parishioners on July 29: “Alec loves to be the center of attention and often reads from the pulpit, which really annoys some in the congregation. It is so bad that, one recent Sunday, he went up to read, and part of the congregation stood and rudely turned their backs on him.”

Is Zionica a left-wing site? Who cares about this? I do not like Alec Baldwin. If he was in my church, I would probably change churches since it would be too liberal for me. I do not understand why Zionica even posted this story – I do not care about what actors are doing or whether a newspaper thinks conservatives were rude to turn their backs on baldwin. This same newspaper did not think it was "rude" of the homosexuals and their comments at or about Chick-fil-A. Not surprised though, it is what I have come to expect of the liberal media.

    • Evermyrtle

I don't know if they are left wing or not. I do know until very recently they have allowed all kinds of rude comments and allowed name calling and awful insults to each other, which is only trash and most people are offended by that kind of trash.

      • kiltyone

You don't know enough to make any statements about Mr. Baldwin.

        • RonMar

You don't seem to know enough to make any statements worth reading about anything.

          • kiltyone

I suggest you don't read my posts…you wouldn't understand them in any event.
One has to speak, write and understand basic English and you have no understanding of that language.

          • RonMar

You are wrong about my grasp of the English language as you are wrong about everything else about which you have posted here.
I suggest you stop posting anywhere, forever to avoid making yourself look like a fool on a worldwide, public site as you have done here.
I may continue reading your posts for my amusement, and I may comment to others about your posts. I am through, however, wasting time responding to your nonsense, you arrogant, self-important fool.
You are incapable of learning and have made that obvious beyond any doubt. That is usually the case with ignorant people who are arrogant in their ignorance and ignorant of their arrogance.
Have fun with all that, fool. Goodbye and good luck. As screwed up as you are, you need lots of luck.

    • kiltyone

Obviously you are behind the times. Actors are just like the rest of us. Are you perfect?
What give you the right to judge this man. It is obvious you do not know him nor his good works.

      • RonMar

Actors, actresses and other so-called entertainers may be just like you, but they are among the least educated and most immoral people on the planet.

        • kiltyone

Really? The most immoral are those found in the fundamentalists groups.
They are afraid of any form of sex other than their perverted acts carried out in the dark. Such a repressed group. Who needs them…ah yes! Their preachers need them to hand over the bucks so they can carry on their own sexual perversions.
We read about them everyday in the news.

          • RonMar

kilty, each time you post you are revealing more on a worldwide, public site about what a fool you are. I ask you again: Do you have a problem with fundamental Christianity? If so why? What are your objections?
Comparing fundamentalists with the Hollywood crowd only reveals your ignorance going to stupidity and bias. Using a few money-grubbing, wealth theology, primarily televangelists to condemn all fundamentalists reveals the same about you.
This is a lie, and lying is still a sin, one of those that made the Decalogue: "We read about them everyday in the news."
I am getting quickly bored with you and your nonsense and forming an impression that you are a homosexual/lesbian, ignorant going to stupid, biased, lying fool.

          • Elaine

fundamentalists in Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism…..Baptist? Mormon? you make no sense on this 1 Kitty

        • Elaine

NOT ALL, NEVER Judge Everyone the same, Kurt Cameron Is a Great Actor and Christian.

          • RonMar

Elaine I am not judging anyone, I am only stating facts.

  • agbjr

Alec Baldwin is an approved liturgist? This 'man' has broken just about every tenent of the Church and by all doctrine should be excommunicated! Well it just shows how truly forgiving the Roman Catholic Church really is … still, they should sprinkle a little holy water on him to see if he sizzles.

    • kiltyone

You have no right to criticise Mr. Baldwin. You are not to judge. If God forgives him as He does all people then it is not any of your busines..

      • cyoder

If he thinks he doesn't need forgiveness, then God won't forgive him. Where in the Bible does it say that God forgives all people? Loves yes, but forgives only if they ask for it.

      • Jeanette Victoria

The lord told us to judge not by man's rule but by His, We are in fact commanded o judge righteously

        • Wlaine

Exactly. But only other Christians, NOT the unsaved. God is their judge

  • Esther Mae Egan

My question is: Why do they stay in a church that is not feeding them. Are they wolves trying to disrupt the service? Are they honoring the Lord or Satan? If I did not care of the Pastor I would find some place else to go. I do not think anyone has them changed to their seats. Also if they have a issue with Alex then they need to do as the Bible says and confront him in a loving way. I do not think standing with their backs to him is loving. Sounds to me that maybe there are evil spirits wanting to discredit and harm Alex. I do not know him but I do know something of his father. If the people feel this is an issue then they should call a meeting with the father.

  • tommyboy

If he were in my parish I would become a Jew until he left. He is a wind bag with a nasty temper.

    • kiltyone

How well do you know him. Seems you believe what you read in the Inquirer.
He is not what you think. He is a very gentle man and a most generous one.

      • whynot

Bull $h it!…. you are as stupid as he is. He has shown his a$$ to many times, you don't have to read anything….!!!!

  • rikker5700

the rest of us are tired of him also. wish he was a man of his word, he would be living in another country by now..

  • Ed G

I can't imagine why they are tired of him – he's such a nice guy, and so smart. (ha ha)

  • Mexseiko

Is it Catholic or Episcopal. None of them are good, both there is a difference between the two.

Regardless, I was surprised he attended any resemblance of Christianity, regardless of how light.

    • kiltyone

Just for your stunted information the Episcopal Church in The United State is a great and wonderful church with a fantastic heritage. Historical liturgy and pagentry make up part of the beauty of this glorious church.

      • RonMar

"A wonderful church with a fantastic heritage" of appointing openly practicing homosexuals. Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! No doubt you imagine God approves that wonderfulness and heritage.

        • kiltyone

Check it out boobie. We are speaking of the Episcopal Church and there is far less abuse then one finds in the fundamentalist churches in the sound.
My God approves of everything a person chooses to do with their body. After-all, people were supposedly made in the image of God. Actually all churches are merely social groups.

          • RonMar

I know well of which "church" we are speaking. The latter part of your second sentence, a run-on sentence btw, makes no sense at all, e.g., "churches in the sound." It does raise some questions though: Do you have a problem with fundamental Christianity? If so, why? What is your objection?
"My God," your theology is as screwy as any I have ever heard. Episcopal churches may be "merely social groups," but not the church where I attend and participate. Too bad for you and your church.
So I repeat for your benefit, "boobie," "A wonderful church with a fantastic heritage" of appointing openly practicing homosexuals. Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! No doubt you imagine God approves that wonderfulness and heritage.
Go ahead keep up your defense of abomination as defined and described in God's Holy Word – the Holy Bible – and I will keep repeating the truth for you and others here to see and read.

  • fliteking

Steven Baldwin is great, but who is this 'Alec' ?

  • http://www.answersingenesis.org/ keyboardshark

    Who is Alec Baldwin?

  • Deepizzaguy

I cannot believe Alec Baldwin does television commercials after some of his crazy stunts he does like make noise on an airplane. Go figure.

  • Mary Wood

Alec Baldwin is a Hollywood actor, therefore useful only for the jobs such "big names" bring to people in the movie industry.

  • RAL

A mans word and actions, are warned in the Bible, to either match up, or believe the deception. The Bible also warns that negotiating with the immoral, allows the immorality to infiltrate our lives. Presenting a 'Pearl' to 'Swines', Jesus warned, is a waste of time, and will allow us to be 'ripped' apart, by the values of this world.
If the clergy in this church, is mislead or bought off, they need to be called out, but many in clergy take no time in being 'star struck', so this could be a misleading attempt to destroy the link of the clergy. Either way, this clergy needs to be made aware, and then you will have your answer.
My prayers are with this church. God Bless.

  • RonMar

I have been tired of Alec Baldwin for a long time, and I do not even attend the church where he pontificates.
