Living the Abstinent Lifestyle in New York

Trinity Laurel moved to Manhattan at 21 to pursue a modeling career. Raised in a Christian home, Laurel was a virgin when she reached the city, and says she has “remained pure” while living here since.

Not all of her friends can relate.

“They’re like, ‘How do you do that?’ ” Laurel, now 28, said. “People are almost fascinated.”

Welcome to New York, Tim Tebow. Now that the Jets have broken training camp and Tebow, a famous chaste Christian, becomes a full-time New Yorker, it has become a common, and mildly amusing, pastime to fret about the temptations he might face or the potential loneliness he might suffer.

But Laurel’s story, and the stories of other abstinent singles in New York, suggest that he will have plenty of company, and prospective dates. Indeed, Tebow may be better positioned for a chaste life than other New Yorkers, simply because he did not spend his early 20s in the city.

I respect Tebow and his honor and intregrity regarding his relationship with Jesus Christ. How sad that living a life according to God's Word is so amazing to people. Living the Christian way of life found in the Bible is exactly how God wants us to live and makes the most remarkable life style that works regardless of what happens in our life. It is the only happiness one can have. I am not talking about be religious; but being Christ like. Living under the control of the Holy Spirit; studying His Word and applying it to your life. It is the most fantastic way to live. Our relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important one in life.

II Cor 1:3-4 -Blessed be the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4who comforts
us in our entire affliction so that we will be able to comfort
those who are in any affliction with the comfort
with which we ourselves are comforted by
    God.

He is probably one of the most truly respected players and also one of the most misunderstood player in the NFL. He is one of the greatest role models in the NFL, but unfortunately the competition isn't all that great…he is a hero amongst the criminals and thugs. Professional sports (all sports) is a true embarassment as we place these guys on pedestals and then wonder why our kids today are having so many problems. I wish we had Tebow back here in Colorado as he was dealt a really raw deal by a Broncos management when they brought Manning in. John Elway is a joke and he was so envious of the attention Tim was receiving that he had to get rid of him. Peyton Manning is a good guy but should have stayed in retirement; I pray for him that he doesn't take that inevitable hit that will paralyze him for life…Peyton its okay that your brother has more Super Bowl rings than you do.
