You are missing the main issue. Yes, the plant was in the process of being shut down. However, it was NOT shut down before Obama took office. He also said he wanted to re-tool it “so we can build the fuel-efficient cars of tomorrow and create good-paying jobs,” as Obama promised. That was going to be part of the stimulus program. However, he did not do it. It finally stopped all production during the Obama term.

It’s true that the plant didn’t last another year, as Ryan said. In fact, the Business Journal in Milwaukee wrote that the assembly plant shut down on Dec. 23, 2008, at the tail end of the Bush administration, a victim of the financial crisis and
dwindling demand for the SUVs produced at the plant. That’s nearly one
month before Obama was sworn into office.

About 100 workers were kept on in 2009 to finish a truck order and help shut down the plant, according to the Associated Press.

On that note, Ann……..Our whole convention included God. Every person who spoke, except for Clint, thanked or praised God in some way. Our convention began with an invocation and ended with one. My heart soared. With all the revelations of Romney's Godly and charitable past, we are indeed blessed to have such a man as our candidate. The support from the past olympians was amazing and profound. What do the Dems have? Sandra Fluck and the idiot woman from Mass. Talk about your stark differences……………..

The above article is excellent, for a change. Many times I sure don't agree with the writer. Paul Ryan impressed me in the same way. I, too, had never heard him speak and found him to be amazing. God bless our team, Romney/Ryan. Pray and vote!

A fairly small town in Wisconsin is so fortunate to have such a bright young man to represent them. My first impression of Paul Ryan was that of honesty and someone with a hard work ethic. It is a far cry from a Joe Biden. Not even in the same class as a Paul Ryan. This young man will go all the way. I may not be here to see it but I surely will depart knowing America is in good hands and caring hands. I have no doubt that these two men care deeply for this country and will reduce this government to that which represents the people. Politicians have had their way with us for decades.
