Christians should be tough–like Jesus

I inadvertently stirred up quite a theological controversy. I happened to, in a sense, agree with Donald Trump when he advised the Liberty University student body  to “not let people take advantage of them.”

Instead, he said, “get even.”

Or, in its greater oratorical context, “Be tough. In the end – win.”

At least, that’s how I, and lots of other people, took it. I didn’t assume that “getting even” had to imply mal intent; I interpreted the phrase through my own evangelical worldview, and I understood that within the dog-eat-dog world of corporate America you have to be fiercely determined, and competitive, to be successful.  I do not believe that success is a sin.

Of course, as a Bible-believing evangelical, I do not believe that Christians should treat people maliciously, take revenge or fight with others arbitrarily. I believe we should show extraordinary restraint. But, when someone asked me if I thought God would “get even” with people, I decided to make a nuanced, theological point: “God would, and he did, get even.”

Jesus was no wimp who let people walk all over Him. The Bible says that Moses was a meek man, and he was no wimp.

JESUS CHRIST was not tough, that HE would fight back, HE was tough and would not change THE WORD OF GOD AND HIS PLAN one iota. They slapped HIM, they spit on HIM , HE was abused verbally. HE DID NOT FIGHT BACK,HE only stuck to HIS guns, you might say, because HE never changed HIS teaching, it remained the same using only THE WORD OF GOD. That is why HE had to die, HE would not veer to the right or to the left of GODS will for HIM. They could not overcome HIM so they killed HIM. HE died for our sins in HIS death, yet HE never sinned, not once.

Had Jesus lost His cool, we wouldn't be blogging about anything whatsoever. I imaging why He sweated bulits of blood, because as one thought could heal a girl remotely, one word could make that dirt we call earth disappear. He doesn't even have to move a finger. He told Peter I can call a legion of angels. Perspective: two angels obliterated 2 whole cities, and i imagine it was a surgical job. Archaeologists are still debating on their location. One legion is 100. Somebody grab a calculator.

So, yes my brother. Rejoice in Jesus' peace. Amen.

No one is asking you to do any such thing in a work environment. If you're a Christian, pray for and use wisdom. If you are not, this doesn't pertain to you.

Christens don't have enough gumption and backbone to look after their own interests! A sorry bunch of cowards!

Who are "Christens"? You would be surprised at the number of Christians who are meek and loving people who believe in fighting back to protect their family and their Nation.

II Tim 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and discipline.

Jer 17:5 Thus says the LORD, "Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the LORD.

Isaiah 40:29 He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.

do you say that to anyone else like the mooslims or athists. You say Christians are coward but why attack people whose believe is love kindness. its kinda like if some one slapped your mom or siter around how would you feel? See the goal is to be more like Jesus not a heathen.
He turned his head when slapped. so you saying see how tuff someone like that is?

Finally, someone has written an article on this subject. And it's a terrific one. I'm so weary of bossy, loud people calling quiet people, "meek and mild". It's not only an insult. It's stupid. It's the meek that will inherit the earth. Loud-mouth people whose brains don't know what they're going to say before their mouth has already said it, end up getting themselves in trouble, because they don't know how to listen. So many make the mistake of thinking someone is weak because they are kind (meek). satan made that huge mistake with Jesus, did he not? If he had known what would be the end result of his instigating the crucifixion of Christ, he would have left well enough alone. Once Jesus was raised from the dead, He took the keys of death, Hell and the grave, and satan's fate was sealed. He's doomed-and he knows it. The only "pleasure" he will ever know is dragging as many people into Hell with him as he can before he is cast there himself for all of eternity. The same Jesus Who told the weary and heavy-laden to come unto Him because His burden is light and He will give them rest, railed at the religious hypocrites of the day, calling them "whited sepulchres". Look it up. It's not a compliment. Yes, it will ruffle feathers-feathers that need to be ruffled. But please pray for God's timing and discernment in all things. But yes, Christians, please, let's stop the steamroller of militant atheism, Islam, and the radical homosexual agenda that is rolling over our once-great country. Take it back-but take it back for Jesus Christ, under the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit.
