Pro-Kremlin youth group protests Mormon missionaries

The youth wing of the ruling United Russia party's held a protest on Thursday calling for a ban on Mormon missionaries in Russia, charging that they were potential American spies.

"This is an American sect," said Ekaterina Stenyakina, co-chair of Young Guard's coordinating committee, the RIA Novosti news agency reported. "They are funded by the United States of America, and it's been proven that many young Mormons return to the U.S. to work for the CIA and FBI."

The group chanted slogans outside the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Russian headquarters in Moscow and hoisted signs reading "No, to foreign agents!" and "Foo, CIA!" the news agency reported.

Some Young Guard members held up a makeshift one-way plane ticket reading "back to Washington" for Mormon missionaries.

Next, they will say send home any evangelical missionaries, same reasoning. Where do they get the idea that Morman Missionaries are working for the CIA? Just because one or two may later be employed there does not mean that is the mission of the Mormans. That reasoning can be used against any group that sends people into Russia.

    • judy64

It will ultimately, like you said, lead to banishing all Christian missionaries.. I bet they do not send the Muslim youth from the local mosque away… but if they were smart, they would use their power to do just that.. i wish we could.

    • Bighoss

No–not just one or two. Both the FBI and the CIA have a disproportionately high number of Mormons working for them. That does not mean that Mormon Cult members in Russia are spies, except in the paranoid view of certain Kremlinites.

It is not surprising, though, that Russians would view Mormons as a strange bunch. They ARE a strange bunch!

Howard Hughes, the wacky billionaire recluse, employed numerous Mormons as his personal staff and bodyguards. They were nicknamed the "Mormon Mafia."

  • Galen Robsion

I am a Mormon, I know it, I live it, and I love it. People who hate it, including the communists, can go pound sand.

    • Evermyrtle

Unless you know all their beliefs such as the writings of Joseph Smith be careful. If you have not read all that he says, read it before you declare to love it I have read a few things that he supposedly wrote and it will take a fool to believe that rubbish.

      • Ruth

Evermyrtle, I love the comments you always put on this site….You are some of the rare few that taken the time to even read the Book of Mormon, and the teachings of Joseph Smith… I can't believe that people with ANY intelligence and commonsence could even believe or be taken in by such garbage….Satan really is working overtime to deceive the masses in these Last Days…The more comments I read on these sites, and see that even professed Christians are so ready to compromise their beliefs to vote for "The Lesser of 2 Evils"….I can see how FEW will make it when the Lord Jesus Christ returns, Which will be very soon……God Bless, And Stay Strong in the Lord !

        • Vladimir

Sorry, Ruth, based on her comments on this site, Evermyrtle hasn't read the whole Book of Mormon and certainly hasn't gone to God in prayer to ask if it is true. You see that's the key. God has promised to give you wisdom, but you must ask as James tells us in chapter 1 verse 5.

Many have read the Book of Mormon and then asked God if it is true. That's why The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints continues to grow around the world. Don't be deceived by Satan. Don't be one of his victims. As you said, he is working overtime.

Only truth comes from God, so do your homework then ask Him. You won't be disappointed.

          • Pastor Dwayne

You only have to read one lie in the b.o.m. and you don't WANT to read anymore, because the lie is so outrageous .
Also, the great falling away, "that was revealed to you" does not correspond to the great falling away in the Bible, 2Thes. 2:3, that says the falling away would happen right before the catching away, (raptus), and the revelation of the antichrist! Purely another lie Satan has given you.

Instead of studying the Bible to get your answers, the wisdom you depend so much on, Js 1:5 is Satanic in nature! It is not the truth of the Word of God! God says in His Word if you or a group of people want to believe a lie instead of the truth, God would see to it that you would continue in the lie (s), Gal. 1:7-9 says men or an angel would preach another Gospel (good news) . Vlad that means another gospel, another testament of another Jesus , will be so close to the truth of the true Gospel, the Real Jesus, people would FALL for it.
Vlad, God the Father, Jesus Christ , the Holy Ghost has existed FOREVER, throughout past eternity to future eternity. NO you will never become A god!!!

          • Pastor Dwayne

PS I have prayed and asked Js. 1:5 , guess what ALL of L D S is wrong!!!!!!!!

          • Vladimir

Pastor Dwayne, you didn't say God revealed to you. Did He?

          • Pastor Dwayne

OK, God revealed it to me.

          • Pastor Dwayne

Vlad, ALWAYS know if the Lord reveals anything to anybody , the revelation will never go above and beyond His written word, which He holds above Himself..

          • Bighoss

You need not have prayed at all. There is so much utter falsity in the Book of Mormon and so much glaring doctrinal error in the Mormon cultic belief system that any one with a sane and rational mind would reach the conclusion you did without burdening the ear of God with prayer.

          • Vladimir

Pray tell, Pastor Dwayne, exactly what lie did you find in the Book of Mormon? Oh, wait a minute, you were speaking hypothetically. You should read it before criticizing it. Just makes sense.

          • Pastor Dwayne

            1. I read it . 2 . The city Atlantis and surrounding areas was caved off into the sea by God , """""" ( TO HIDE THEIR SIN FROM HIM ) """"""",,, Coarse I read that back in the 80s, so the L D S may have refined , edited the B O M

          • Vladimir

Find a Book of Mormon published in the 80's and get back to me. None of my mention the city of Atlantis.

          • Bighoss

Why not find a copy of the first edition of the Book of Mormon and read that? If indeed Joseph Smith made a correct word-for-word translation, that edition should be all you need.

Oh, wait! There have been almost 4000 changes to the Book of Mormon since Joseph Smith first put it out in 1830, so one must conclude that Joseph, as the "AUTHOR and Proprietor" (his words in the inside cover) of that initial edition,
was not paying very good attention to what those "seer stones" were trying to tell him. The current edition has changed that notation to "Translated by Joseph Smith, Jr." There IS a difference between being "Author" and being a translator.

Explain this not-so-subtle change for us, O confident Mormon.

            Smith made this preposterous claim:

" "The Book of Mormon [is] the most correct of any book on earth," Joseph Smith stated, "and the keystone of our religion."

Preposterous! If the alleged translation was so "correct," then why did it require almost 4000 changes after the first edition was printed? The first edition was full of grammatical errors, such as use of the word "is" instead of the correct "was".

It thus made God an inept user of the English language if one is to believe that God guided the "translation."

Here is a real dilly from that first edition:

Book of Alma, p.351; (1830): "…he went forth among the people, waving the rent of his garment in the air, that all might see the writing which he had wrote upon the rent…"

As edited to remove the ridiculousness: Today: Alma 46:19: "…he went forth among the people, waving the rent part of his garment in the air, that all might see the writing which he had written upon the rent part…"

How does one "wave" a "rent" in the air? A "rent" is a tear or a hole. And get that grammar: "which he had wrote"! Laughable!

As now edited to remove the ridiculousness and clean up the grammar:

            <<>>

Many more examples may be read at this site, including some with considerable doctrinal significance: http://saintsalive.com/resourcelibrary/mormonism/significant-changes-in-the-book-of-mormon

Cleaning up the errors in the first edition has required a lot of editorial work by the successors of the false prophet Joseph Smith, Jr.

          • Bighoss

Sorry about the way that quote from Alma 46:19 came out. Maybe this will work:

9 "And when Moroni had said these words, he went forth among the people, waving the arent part of his garment in the air, that all might see the writing which he had written upon the rent part, and crying with a loud voice, saying:…"

          • Pastor Dwayne

Vlad,,,look a little closer , it is there

    • Bighoss

Happy hunting in your quest for celestial glory as you look forward to mating and begetting ziliions of Mormon chillen to inhabit the planet you hope to be in charge of after you become a god. Just think–your own Planet Kolob!

      • Vladimir

Are you mocking what God the Father is doing, Bighoss?

        • Bighoss

Not at all, O deluded one. I am mocking the silly mockery that Joseph Smith and his successors-in-deception have made of the truth of God's word.

But tell us, Vlad–do YOU anticipate experiencing the kind of erotic and powerful "celestial" glory that I have described? The concept is, after all, a basic part of Mormon doctrine concerning the afterlife!

          • Vladimir

Bighoss, you sound like you have some serious sexual hangups. I'll bet you think it is sinful, dirty, disgusting, messy, etc. And yet it is the method ordained by God.

Those of us who chose to come to earth and form families are not be mocked by God. The love that we have for our family members doesn't have to be lost at death but He can guarantee that it will go on forever. Of course, folks like you who make fun of that principle, will not have these relationships in the next life. There will be others, like Mormons, who will make covenants with the Lord and preserve their marriage bonds forever.

After all, "Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven…". Soften your heart and preserve your family forever, Bighoss.

        • Pastor Dwayne

Bad news Vlad , God the Father is not doing that, your Father the devil has you believing you will be a big daddy someday. All the L D S church is , is just like the Roman Catholic church is ,,, A church of the FLESH, FLESHLY!!!!!! No Spirituality to it!!

    • Pastor Dwayne

You know what they say, love the person hate the sin, in this case the sin of mormonism, LDSism. When a person such as I has truly been born again, studied the word and know that the Angel Moroni ( the one the Apostle Paul spoke of in Gal.1:7-9 spoke of ) lied to Joe . So the true Christians on this site bring the truth to you, It is left up to you to accept or reject.
The whole of the L D S system can all be translated into one word PRIDE, which according to the Word of God The Bible says Pride comes before the fall. Being deceived is a horrible stance to be in, many times Jesus said be not deceived !!!

  • aceituna

I've said before, do not underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit to use portions of God's word to save people. I agree that there is much within the Morman religion to lead people away from God. One must remember the warning in Revelation not to add or subtract from his Word, therefore the Book of Morman goes out the window, but still those Mormans who put their trust in Jesus as God's Son who grants them forgiveness can be saved. Admittedly there probably only a few. From what political statements, Romney has put out I believe that he wil be a much better choice than Obama. His values are much closer to mine than Obama's and he (Probably because he is pilitical) will not try to shove the Morman religion down our throat.
