68 years after the 'liberation' of Auschwitz –lessons learned and unlearned

On January 27, 1945, Soviet troops liberated the Auschwitz Birkenau Death Camp. Actually “liberated” is the wrong word. Opened the gates of hell is more appropriate a term.

The numbers of murdered are staggering. According to the Encyclopedia of the Holocaust nearly a quarter of the 6 million Jews killed in Holocaust were mass murdered there, most in gas chambers. Of the 400,000 political prisoners brought to Auschwitz, only 65,000 left alive; of the 16,000 Soviet POWs, 96 returned home.

Stalin was reported to have said, “One death is a tragedy, a million deaths a statistic.”

But these statistics further illuminate the capacity of humankind to do evil:

Between Dec 1, 1944 and January 15th, 1945, 514,843 pieces of men, women’s and children’s clothing were shipped to Germany from Auschwitz. In the warehouses, Soviet troops found over a million men’s suits, women’s dresses and baby clothing, thousands of pairs of shoes and 7.7 tons of human hair.

      Yes they will answer. Some have come to the Lord and ashamed of what they did. Just like Paul who oversaw the deaths of many Jews in his day and yet the Lord came to him on the Damascus road and converted him. I could never understand a woman or a man who would opt for killing their child when there are so many parents who can not have a child would take that child and love it. I had to miscarriages and that was hard enough on me. I just can not think of the pain these women and some men have knowing they killed a child. Some not all have hardened their hearts and for them the Bible says it would be better that a mill stone be put around their necks and cast into the sea. Should we know someone who has repented remember to love them in spit of what happened in the past. So often we place a greater burden on people because of their sin when they already feel bad.

  You have the exact right idea… while the citizens are armed, any NAZI will have a tough time getting a strong hold on the country…. but B.O. is not doing nothing… he tries to take away the CONSTITUTION first, then act. If the citizens do NOT rise up all at once and protest, then they will ALL be enslaved… perhaps even B.O., after the 2nd down decide to relieve him of the post (using a "Protest" motion, which would only change the leader, not the situation… just as Russia (USSR) had for 50 years! (and 10 million dead outside that of war killed)

    I can't believe the University professors I heard this week advocating against our Constitution because it was not written for our time. After the Bible, it is the greatest document written for a government that would last.     They may believe IN God, but they do not practice BELIEVING what He says! Thus modern Christianity is so far away from God, that being SAVED is a furphy. God said we had to first OBEY Him, and so did Jesus in Matt:5-17… but very FEW pastors want to teach that, because they are signed up to the Papacy's god using a false day as opposed to what Jesus taught.     You are right, there are conservatives who are not believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Consevatives do think straight when it comes to (Divine) Establishment Principles that do not deny God's truth. For example…
    Morality is not spirituality. Spirituality is far greater since we get it from Bible Doctrine. We should take establishment values from Bible Doctrine and apply them to our lives and all other things will fall in place. Morality does not require the filling of the Spirit. Unbelievers can be moral; like living by an honor code in the military. We can’t use morality to measure the Christian way of life; we are to use the Bible. Anything the unbeliever can do is not Christianity and unbelievers can be moral.

My father was in at least 4 camps during WW2… but I can only remember the last 2…. Dachau and Belsen, for which the German Embassy in Sydney, Australia had proof of, and assisted my dad to get his compensation of then in 1995 of AUD $215,000 for the horrors he experienced, and the torturing he suffered. From what IO hear – Obama and his predecessor have very large camps out in the mid-west USA complete with millions of body bags ready… FOR WHAT? …. Americans? Or anyone who disagrees with that tiny god who want to be obeyed?

The holocaust should never be forgotten. I hear they are taking it out of some of our history books for our schools. Our children need to be reminded and taught the truth of our history and those who fought to keep us free and those in other countries.
