Most of the 350 or so middle school-aged kids who come to Wednesday night worship services at Savannah Christian Church are carrying cell phones, said Randall Tonini.

Many are often whipping them out, texting friends, looking at videos and updating their Facebook pages with random thoughts and witty observations.

Tonini isn’t judging.

In fact, the church’s middle school pastor sees an opportunity to use the high-tech gadgets and software to engage young people in Christian faith.

“I see it as a huge advantage,” said Tonini, who leads Wednesday worship services for the youth.
